I wouldn't say corrupt. I would say biased. Honestly almost all mods I know did be assholes to me. So if you treat me like an asshole I'll be one back for you. Sorry for my language kids.
There was a stupid fight about a chat with a certain mod, long story short they changed their story/opinion more then a handful of times, took sides, and i wonder who got the shit end of that. Deffinately not the Mod and him's/her's side. Nope I got away luckly, other people got warned.
I also do notice that if you do "Stalk" the forums/see what's going on the mods are more friendly then they should be, and take sides with the people they're a bit.."too" friendly with. So to answer you're question:

Yes they are and I see no purpose on why the heck why keep some of these mods. Honestly most good mods quit/leave, and I can see why.
TL;DR: Some mods should be fired and shouldn't be too friendly at their job.

I agree that mods are corrupt. Since a few mods quit the staff, there basically isn't any. You get caught saying homophobic/racist words and you get banned for days. Isn't muting there for people who use inappropriate language? Also, the mod team seams to favourite certain people. I've seen multiple mods in a room, and one of their friends says something that normally isn't allowed, and nobody does shit. Yet, if I report someone for using bad language because they are spamming it and etc, nothing happens. They don't get banned. When something serious is happening, and someone is actually hurting someone else, mods don't care. Half of the time that people are banned for homophobic/racist language, they are joking to their friends, calling each other gay, etc. Really, many ban abusers now.

i agree that jokingly calling your friend gay isn't something that deserves a week ban but i really don't think that gay should be used as an insult anyway..

Because in this present world, "gay" is recognised, by most users of that word, as a derogatory term.
People have a right to be attracted to anybody they want to be attracted to but using "gay" as a slur can greatly hurt their feelings as it makes out that you're purposely putting them down. It's not the meaning of the word that they're really offended by, they're offended by the person purposely trying to insult them, especially when they haven't done anything wrong.
If you call a homosexual person "gay", it does make you out as homophobic and why should a person have to put up with someone who makes it clear that they detest the kind of person that you are (either because they're insecure of their own sexuality or they're just plain ignorant)? In that sense, a homosexual will be offended by someone using the word "gay" as a slur, even if it's not directed at them, because they're relating their sexuality to something bad.

The language filter is no excuse for the usage of derogatory terms.

The sentinels are also too corrupt. Most of people backseat moderate and they don't even get a warning. I know some people who dont get warnings, just not giving names.

Just because you think it's backseating doesn't mean a sentinel does though.

The backseat moderater's post or we can call it, sentinel's friend, is still there and not deleted, while mine were all deleted and moderated.
