I don't really see the point to the cafe. It's just full of spam threads and immature questions. What would the purpose be if it weren't filled with those anyways? Seems like an ineffective way to communicate, since we already have the official forums, which allows for longer and more thoughtful discussion. I don't even think the cafe is moderated, which is quite unprofessional and makes it seem rushed. The old flash forums were removed for a reason...

The café shouldn't be seen as a second forum but as a board where players can post anything going through their minds. Moderators can delete threads / posts and can mute if there is any abuse. A post/thread can also be deleted by users by voting "-".

That's generally what a forum is, no? Or that's what chat could be used for...

I mean, I'm neutral about the thing. I could care less and I really hold no plans of using it seeing as users who were permanently banned here have free reign there and it makes me uncomfortable.
I can see pros and cons but it does seem a bit redundant to have this, and this forum, and various other methods of chatting.

You can see this one as a mix between a forum and a chat. It's not meant to be as serious as the official forums.

I'm not a huge fan about the café, if people want to chat about random things, they still have the /chat thing command. The café icon should be replaced by a friends and/or a tribe icon imo.

Erm, anyway, I dislike the concept of the Cafe, it's pointless.

Don't really see what the point of it is.

In it's current state it is redundant and pointless, work should be focused on fixing bugs and improving game stability etc, not adding something that is already present (Forum itself and the /chat command).
Poor mods have even more work to do now. They must be really happy with that.

If they are planning to keep the cafe, I would rather it be moderated than seeing tons of inappropriate content and racism, etc. (but I do fell bad for mods because they can handle reports easily, but since there is no method of reporting posts in the cafe, they will have to be constantly checking).

Anyway, one good thing I can see out of all of this is that there might be (hopefully) less of those spammy threads like "Come to my room" on this forum, and it might arguably be a faster way to communicate with others, even if they are not in the same /chat as you are. Even though you see lots of topics that won't be acceptable here, there are sometimes questions asked there that could be answered in a rather of seconds (depending on who's replying). That's how I see it, anyway.

I said this else where and now I'll say it here again considering the point of this is for "players to post anything that's going through their minds". There's plenty of places users can do this already (Forums if they follow the rules, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, CFM, etc) so why do we need this?

i take back what i said before, this is pretty cute, but it seems kinda pointless. not only thatm but threads get bumped down like in the old flash forums, which bothers me a bit.

It's bretty funny but I don't think you'll be able to keep it for long.

What more would you expect with a voting system on Transformice.. It's like voting no on every user-made map just because regardless if it's bad or not.

Also the whole down-voting thing really doesn't matter if threads are only temporary anyways (for now) and even then if pages are added why remake the flash forums we had before just in a more minimalist manner? It really doesn't make any sense to me.

I agree, I can do without the voting system.

I have seen some inappropriate threads deleted and such.

I forgot to include this, but when I first saw the Cafe button, I initially thought it was room 801 or something similar to that.
