I'm not against polygamy personally, but there's just no point.

We would just basically force a lot of things or basically everything into the game for some moral reason but with no purpose, otherwise people would complain saying that they are discriminated against or whatever; it would just embroil the toxicity in the community even more. You should just create a tribe if you want to list a group of people on your profile. There are things that the admins feel are worth adding to the game but this wouldn't be one of them. It's not a situation where they can freely add everything that they feel would benefit the game. By all means engage in polygamy if you want to, but just make a tribe if you want to be grouped with several people.

This is not supposed to be funny or offensive, to the people who said it was. I'm tired of one opinion being favored over the other by several people not really believing in what they say (even though there are groups of people that do feel strongly over this, and I acknowledge that) just because they are the oppressed sides or because it's the "right thing to do", and then end up insulting the responder. If you're going to favor one opinion, respect the others or you're just as bad as the people who are against polygamy in a moral sense. I'm also not really happy with the people against this suggestion who are saying it's stupid or will never happen in a way that is insulting or offensive to those people who do support this suggestion.

It's not going to be added into the game. You will all get this thread locked and it will never happen if you all fight over it.

I think the general problem here is that people are nosupporting this suggestion because of their beliefs. But this feature would not be added anyway because atelier's primary goal right now is financial gain (you'll notice each of the changes they've made is either something really important like a HUD upgrade or something that will result in monetary gain) and unless you can provide a set of reasons much more important than religion then this is out of the question. It's nothing to do with whether people think it's cheating or not.

Yeah! I totally agree on the monetary gain argument - but honestly, wouldn't this help with that?

I think some people are opposing it because they're just used to mouse monogamy - if it changed, I think people would adapt to it very quickly.

And - since it's an awesome suggestion that makes the game better - at least I would like this a lot, and I even think the naysayers would too - it would gain the game monetaries!

There's totally monetary gain to get from this! In all kinds of ways. Of course it's not a mouse polygamy -> money equation, but indirectly, there's a lot of things to get from this. (even not-money things(!!!))

Made an update to the original post with my thoughts - about the responses - so far.

I don't understand polygamy. I mean by definition I get it, but I believe if you truly love the second one, then you never loved the first. It's never really fair to your partners either, unless they too have multiple. You simply cannot give as much attention to multiple people as you can to one, which means someone is always left on the back burner. It's for reasons like this that polygamy is viewed as selfish and not very widely accepted. The latter is the reason why this probably won't be accepted.

I'm poly myself and it would be great if TFM has this!!

And it wouldn't be cheating if everyone's fine with it. And it would be hypocritical if TFM didn't allow this, since multiple marriages fall under LGBT (TFM allows same gender marriages soo).

I also forgot to mention that there's a difference between multiple marriages and an affair.

Polygamy/Polyamory: Everyone consents to it, everyone cares about eachover.

Affair: Person cheats on another person.

Let's agree to disagree, and yeah, it might not be the most realistic idea, BUT it's worth trying anyway. And who knows, maybe the devs DO like it. That's not for you to say. :)
