If you're seven, you shouldn't be on a game with a chat environment.

My sister is seven and I'm not sure how I would feel about her being exposed to this type of environment. Though she's learned enough vocabulary from school to fit in with the group of kids this discussion is about (she's sworn at me and given me the middle finger on several occasions), I'm not sure if I want her exposed to the distasteful jokes that are sometimes used here. That being said, at least from my sister's and brother's (who is eight) cases it looks like even though they aren't exposed to the internet that often they know things they shouldn't at that age. Of course they could learn it from kids at school who use the internet and think they are funny and mimic them. It comes down to parental control at the end of the day, which even in my own parents and other parents I can see an increase of apathy of what their kids do. I know when i was 14/15 I was getting yelled at for even conversing online and everything I did was heavily supervised and now 5 years later my parents buy my eight year old brother Call of Duty games and other rated M games which have people talking over them on online multi-player. Standards change and there's not much to be done about it. If children are allowed to get on chat sites and games that have a chat that is stated to be 13+ then that is what they are going to be exposed to, no matter what they are expecting when they sign up.

The server when I play (nevermind what is it) full of users under 13. And the game is a very big chaos. All of the time kids 'kills' and hurt each other, they are cheating, use hacks, and of course they behavior is... *cough* They are can't control themself, They everytime use bawdy words, and they think It's okay, because they saw the older generation do the same thing. Of course in this server have kids with normal behavior, and of course not just kids play this game in my country. I just said most of the people can't control themself. I just shocked, when I saw a 6 years old kids in the game. I'm afraid of he see the other players behavior, and he learns from them - later he's going to do the same things.

And of course, the forum. We don't have sentinel, so us forum full of spam topics by kids. And some spam topic is really bad! The author hurt sentinels or the other players in a vomment with full of bawdy words. It's so terrible!

I realize this thread has been dormant for a while so I should leave it be, but I think this is an important issue that needs to remain in discussion. I'm among the older tfm users and tend to be too ashamed to state my age in-game; among bullies, trolls, and the more unpleasant players of Transformice, that admission tends to come with a fair amount of mocking and the usual "you have no life" statements. Now, my behavior isn't perfect. I'm not a model human. But I am very aware of what is and is not appropriate in chats and I'm disgusted by much of the behavior that I witness, frequently by very young players who are seeing no consequences for the unacceptable things that they say and who almost certainly don't fully comprehend the meaning and weight of their words. Racial and homophobic slurs, rape jokes, death threats, sexual harassment, verbal abuse, jokes about suicide.... Simply put, I believe that children under 13 are too young to be exposed to the things said in the Transformice chat, and at their impressionable age they model their own words on those they hear from others in an attempt to fit in. This, for me, is extremely distressing. The only thing more distressing is the knowledge that nothing can be done about it.

I'm eight.. Well mannered like most or the 11 year olds but does this mean I'm kicked out? :(

I'm actually 22 (almost turning 23) and sometimes some underaged users can be rude, others can be nice. It's only the manner of attitude that any users have and this can be either avoidable (if that kid is being mean to you) or acceptable (in case it's nice to you). Sometimes people can be judgemental, but I think it's quite regardfull (I don't know if it's the right word, if not, I meant indifferent, so excuse my English) to me. It's still a community.

No, it says if you are under 13 and want to play this game you need your parents permission.

Ive seen many people under 13, and in fact, im one of them. There isnt really a problem if they got their mom/dad's permission.

Well, I am twelve, but I'm well mannered. I mean, I'm only one year younger than thirteen, but I just turned twelve. Also, I can be a little wild.

I'm 10 actually, I guess I could say I am well-mannered? In a way yes, I think I am. I can be really wild sometimes. (All the time) xD

I guess I do have a few things to add to this.
There isn't anything wrong with people under the age of 13 playing this, and I really don't mind that they are here, and until very recently I didn't know that the +13 rule was a thing. My younger sister, in fact, plays this game, who is 11. She actually invited several members of her class to this game as well. I do recall that one of them has 'changed' so to speak after using this game. -- She's expressed to me multiple times that now he curses and is very rude to her and her friends; she also talk about how he is constantly looking for a girlfriend on transformice. I think these changes in acting in ANY child is a bad thing, and I also believe that young kids should not be on a game looking for a 'girlfriend', that is exactly how they end up giving away their personal information and possibly being kidnapped. I've already discussed with my sister that when she is in-game I don't want her looking at the chat unless she's in a room with just her friends, and I've also told her that online-dating, and giving out personal information isn't something she should be doing. -- But just because I am her to watch over here and be sure she's safe online, there are a lot of sibling less children without this 'guidance'. Like I said before I've never had an issue knowing that there is younger kids on the game, but I do think a heavy re-evaluation should be brought down on the game.

I've played for about 2 years and i have never heard of the rule "You have to be 13" from any mouse. I really don't know why people don't like "under aged" kids. I'm reading the updates and i don't see anything about the rule either.
