| This command reminds me of the time when Multi-threathing was in Transformice. The effects on gameplay are almost the same, only this is better |

Thunderai a dit : The whole point of this thread is to let players test it out and report us how unfair it can be. This way we will be able to fix these flaws and release this command to everyone without any unfairness. We fixed most of the issue related to this command thanks to the help of mods and MC, but we know it's also better if a larger number of people test it. We probably missed several issues. That explains the creation of this thread. |

| Note: Some map mechanism's that require certain speeds/power can be effected by the fps change. Some examples from this is the conveyorbeld. It actually moves left and right constantly, but because of your frame rate it will only visually display that it is going 1 direction and just teleports back the other. So with high frame rate you can sometimes see it move back and then conveyors will shoot you the wrong way. Next to this, there is animation differences in walljumping you can more easily wall jump with the higher frame rate and you get less stuck. But this will in terms change a few things specifically for maps, like ice shoots where you go through a thin space and its slightly tilted, it will normally shoot you out, this time you wouldnt even be able to enter it further. Also dynamic grounds have this bouncy and phasing effect where the player can merge on the same location as a ground, being squished between them. This becomes harder with a higher frame rate. So if you for example have 2 spinning circles with high friction that would normally pull you through, with high frame rate this will just clock up because you are unable to squish through now. There are more things, but these are in general the most observed issues with them, so keep them in mind when you are playing and when you are making maps. Because I have no clue what they are going to make the standards. |

Snowdragonf a dit : Fps60 increases the FPS and increasing FPS = decreasing lag. So no, it's not strange. You should've read the OP in the first place. |

| What, how does that make any sense |

Vogul a dit : if you played minecraft you'd understand me :) |

| Except this is TFM :) And since when does having higher FPS make your connection better Because lag used to be (and I still think is) associated with one's network latency. |

Vogul a dit : Well basiclly it still is, but lag might come from low FPS also? Just guessing here, but if you're pc can handle better Fps then it reduces the amount of glitches, lags that come from maps in the game, making them move faster, smoother. = less lag? |

| Increasing FPS by regular standards does not make you lag less (whether it's clientside or not). The game has to process just as much, and display even more. It might make the game smoother, but that's nothing to do with lag. |

| Wrote a long reply then copied and went to another topic to realise it didnt copy... :'( so stupid. Anyway in short, increasing the fps does not decrease lag. It just makes the graphics play/render faster so it plays smoother. However, increasing the fps with a computer that does not have the hardware capable of playing/rendering that fast will cause a decrease in fps that will not be permanent. This causes graphics to play unconsistently and make the user have a small period of 'laggy' graphics but really its just caused by the users computer not being able to cope with the graphics. Although I doubt any computer that was made since 2005 will lag with 60fps, especially with Transformice since its not exactly the most grpahics intensive game. Flash can be a bitch sometimes tho so, could happen.. |

Xarrj a dit : My PC was apparently made in 2002 and it seems to work okay.. I don't get lag spikes or, not very often. I can't really say for sure though, I might just not be aware of how it is for other people or if it can be better than it currently is for me. |
