New TFM is definitely better, but I liked the blue basic look better imo.

I also enjoy the new Transformice, and i'm a 6 year player. The only thing i miss is the Kongregate server, room 1. And Baffbot.

I miss the 2013 days. the style, events, and game play was just so much better.
In my opinion, the game just gets worst every update.

Shadowwinter a dit :
I personally prefered old Transformice over new, but it's not entirely because of the updates.. There were some ups and downs such as the server merge in my opinion. Sure I did meet new people in the process but I also feel like it really brought a lot more rude players together and it killed almost all the private rooms I played in for some reason as well as destroyed very tight-nit communities.

The next update I'd very much like to complain about is the Shaman skills. They were cool at first but they didn't really add anything to the game other then taking away a lot more creativity then it came with, making shaman's lazier an making cage maps/a lot of other maps lose their purpose entirely. Being the shaman was one of the funnest parts in the game in my opinion that forced you to think outside the box but now that just doesn't exsist anymore.

Most of all the game lost it's simplicity, what made it fun and addicting to play. Now n' days you have overly complicated XML edited mechanisms and overly laggy art maps, lots of random decorations that hide the cheese and hole as well as useless grounds that just add more weight on the scale. There's probably more that others can add to the scale but I'll leave it at that.

Some of the things I did like about the old Transformice was the introduction of Hardmode. It was a lot of fun messing with the totems and just failing and having a good laugh about it with other players as it added a new layer to the game without losing it's simple concept.

Moderators being able to play music and letting players request music. This was one of the most fun, and memorable moments to Transformice in my opinion. Just randomly having a moderator come into your room and then out of no where just hearing a song play (sometimes it being a song you like !) and everyone just dancing while having a good time.

Another fun but not so old thing was when Bouboum and Forteresse were introduced to Transformice (Bouboum now being an independant game). It was a lot of fun taking a break from Transformice to play something else and seeing all your friends in one room together. I really enjoyed playing both these games and still do.

Hat week. This was the most amazing, random event Transformice could have and everytime I saw the announcement about it, it just put a huge smile on my face. Looking forward to a hat each and everyday while it being a mystery on what could be added was a lot of fun.

A lot of the 2010-2011 events. Some of the best events in my opinion even though some of the newer ones are great too.

I'm sure there's a lot more that I'm missing, but I'll leave it at that. I'm kind of sad that Transformice won't ever really be the same as it was back in the day (No one likes change, let's be honest). Now in days I just feel like most of the stuff they're adding is pointless because they've ran out of ideas and the repeat in concepts of old events (Some are really nice, like the last Fishing event) but to have it again and again every year is a bit boring. Before anyone tells me to go to #retro, it's not the same and never will be the same because you can't get the same vibe anymore.

I'm glad that Transformice has grown as big as it has, and I hope it keeps growing however.

This sentiment captures a lot of what I feel adroitly. I gravely do prefer the old Transformice versus what it has developed into predominantly now. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing the game, but I do miss the Kongregate community and the amicable atmosphere of having fun playing. The focus on profile statistics, being the best/most pro have given this game so much hostility. Seldom do I get enjoyment of reading the chat or interacting with other users in it now than I did years ago.

It seems as the user base grows younger, the administrators put forth more effort into catering that specific age group since children will definitely funnel Atelier 801's profit by pestering their parent or guardian for money toward fraises. As callous and bitter it will make me seem, I truly believe the past few years the administrators have made fraises their clandestine goal to receive more money. I find it no coincidence that the arrival of fraises was followed by the skyrocketed price of shop items in cheese. I mean, it sounds redundant and obvious, but announcing new games no one asked for and all this other nonsense was just..Eh. I would have rather read an honest "We need money for our company to grow!" than the spiel received back in, what, 2013?

Additionally the decoration - detailed skies, grounds, shaman customization, etc. are just too much for me. I figured being able to choose from a myriad of furs and items to customize to your own personal liking would have been enough. It's grating how these updates are not met with fixes or corrections to glitches or bugs in the game.

Events were much more fun and creative back in the day, too. I feel now it requires too much time just to receive all the badges, titles, items, etc in enough time before the event concludes. Hell, as much as I like events it's as though there's always one going on now, which is beginning to sap out the fun and enjoyment of the concept itself.

Moderators. They've improved to a degree. I remember in the earlier days a fair number of were abusive of their privileges, had little idea of appropriately handling unique situations, and just weren't very attentive to reports of hackers and harassment. Since they've gotten more staunch on the recruitment process and training it has improved but I am still left with the same sense as in the early years that they are clique-y and pick favorites. I am however familiar with a few moderators with sound character. I would comment that they are understaffed but since moderation applications were opened a month ago I will assume by September this will change. Here's hoping, anyway.

Another thing I miss is the old Cheeseformice forums, but I'm certain that's just me being biased and accustomed to the initial forums.

Well, since I briefly stated the few things I don't like -

I love the modules. Especially spiritual (the new shaman room) and FFARACE. Many of them are creative and I like being able to play a sub-game without having to sign into something different. It's definitely an attestation to the versatility of Transformice as a game itself. I pray for this kind of development to continue. I do hope the continuance of growth will cede the vast negativity of abrasive chat logs and foul competitiveness drained of entertainment. But still, it's hard to find multiple great things to say about this site when you've played for so long and know what kind of atmosphere and community it used to be. I guess that's what I ultimately prefer over the current Transformice.

I miss old tfm a lot. I have a few saved screen of my mouse back in 2010. Back then walljumping made you pro, and the maps were all the same color scheme. Furs didnt exist yet, and items couldnt be customized. Also, only one shaman difficulty! You couldnt even change your shaman color, and when hardmode came out everyone wanted it only because it made your shaman scheme yellow lol.

I stopped playing in 2011 and was honestly amazed by what I came back to around 2012ish. Suddenly the maps had backgrounds and grass, and the most exciting thing was the furs!

Old tfm always holds a special place in my heart.

I personally love it in 2014 because of how the old messages were and the color's where i guess/think were knew at that time. But yea over the years Tfm has changed from the stop appearance to the new shop appearance and the creation on the old cafe like (- 0 +) <-- i think that's how the old dislike and like button was to the double click on the pfp. The new furs and event came along, All and All it was just from Beta times till now,
