I wouldn't say that is corruption.
More like inconsistency at max.

Arber a dit :
Here is just an example. Topic-563496

An user just gives a direct link to a thread, with no words, or anything else, and the sentinel out there just locks the thread saying that the user is right. I have done that too, and my post got moderated.

I wouldn't call that backseat moderating, because the user in question didn't actually tell the OP what to do, they just linked to a thread. They weren't being all that helpful since they didn't explain themselves, but they weren't being demanding and telling the OP what to do/what not to do either.

Exactly I've found the only way to even be helpfull is to provide a full explimation about what the thread is about, it annoys me and quite a few others when there's just some random thread lieing around as if the person is saying "here's the thread for this, and it was quite obvious it was there so you're dumb so lock this"

and of course, there's been times where i've provided more then enough explimation and more links that are even needed (going beyond that of helping) and yet every now about then it's treated like back seat modding. When, these, with no help at all, are treated like just, nothing.

That has never existed.
Rather than whining about it on a thread though consider reporting it if it bothers you so much. Admins don't even browse the forums that often; you're better off contacting them.

If it was in bugs, I did moderate a couple posts before like that because there was no point in linking the thread and gives the implication that what the user did was wrong and their thread should be locked (because after posting a link generally the thread is usually locked on all other subforums). I kinda gave up because I guess people are too used to it and it does show that the bug is known and they are not the only ones experiencing it.

The only other case I can think of is when people assume the two threads are too similar when in fact it's not. Then it's spam and unnecessary and a sent will likely moderate the post.

As everyone mentioned you can try contacting a sentinel if you wish to inquire further into your warnings or reasons why your post were moderated and discuss them.

And what Finland said regarding how I handled that thread.

I agree with Vogul in that I don't believe there is any corruption. Just a lot of inconsistency.

This thread is dead. Let's bring it back to life, because there is always corruption. I thought in tribe threads on tribe subforum, posts should have been only related to the tribe, not like a free chat, but no, crossing borders, is a 'staff' tribe, where most of staff and people who are no longer staff are there. Seriously, i was just checking and they were talking random things, not even relating to the tribe. You would say, report, but please, its a 'staff tribe', and 'staff friends'

I don't see where your venom is coming from, because most tribes in the Tribes subforum chat in their threads.

I'm sorry you took offense to us talking about random things. Regardless of what the rules are and how they are to be interpreted, I don't think it warrants a bump of this thread for two reasons:

1. This was less than 30 minutes ago. Say that what we did was a violation, there has been very little time for the staff to check it out.
2. I'm not so sure our talk was in any way against forum rules.

I personally take offense that you're just targeting our tribe.
a) So, because we have staff, we can't have fun in our tribe thread? Are you serious?
b) Every single active thread is practically spam in that subforum. I don't know why you have to have heat on us.
c) What exactly was so bone chillingly against rules/morals?

I'm so confused by what you mean with previous staff, and current staff? MUST staff talk about the tribe or chat among their tribe friends???

?? Tribe subforums are now chats among your fellows in the tribe. Can you not just pick on our one group and rather look at RapidClan which is just the epitome of empty-content bumping

Can you please respond so you can clarify your quite confusing statement

This is not correct, in the rules and guidelines thread of the tribes subforum it explains clearly:

"Tribe threads are not restricted to discussions directly related to your tribe; they may be used as a chat thread. Some rules are relaxed in tribe threads. However, this does not mean you are free to do whatever you want but rather smaller offenses are over-looked. "

Crossing Borders, and indeed all other tribes, can use their tribe threads as free chat between tribe members and anyone else who is keen to join in and is not blacklisted. In my opinion this isn't corruption or abuse, just following the rules appropriately.

I'm pretty sure corrupt mods or sentinels won't be mods or sentinels anymore. Anyway, some people think of corruption as "This mod/sentinel is being mean to me!!" even though they know they broke a rule, and are obviously going to get punished. Even though I have seen some questionable acts from some staff members, it's not really like they're exhibiting characteristics of a currupt mod. Even so, you can complain to an admin and just receive the same darn response (if your argument is invalid). Just because it isn't "fair" to you, doesn't make it any less fair to others.
