They are like ants.
They earn a lot of cheese in a room. When they enter hole with cheese, they go into the cheese room and put their cheese there. After they did that, if there's enough time left, they go into bedroom and rest until other mice enter also.
When a new round starts, the new shaman wakes them up and tells them "go get cheese, hurry!". The mice come out of the hole and run to the cheese. Then, the shaman runs after them and helps them reach for the cheese. They run back into the hole and everything goes on again.

they go to a special land where the mouse goddess accepts there cheese as a gift, then turns it into money and sometimes tiels and skill points if they bring her enough

They go to TransforAcademy, where they learn how to cook the cheese into yummy cheese related things, like cheese cake, cheese fondue, cheese-covered strawberries, and more. Then, they cook the cheese and serve it to their tummies. ^^

I like to think that there is the mouse's friends and families in the hole and they set out on a mission to feed their starving families, facing whatever dangers may lay in their path. So when a mouse enters the hole, They go back to their little compartment in the ground, where their families rest and they deposit cheese. After depositing cheese and communicating with their pals, they climb out of their little compartment up to the surface to gather more cheese.

For some reason I always imagine a water park.
