You need to log in once, and you can log off after that it'll load all by itself. When you come back later, it'll work.
Also sorry I don't have an ETA, it really depends on how many players are connecting, and a lot are right now. We've put some queue system and disabled some things to speed things up.

It all worked for a few seconds, and then it complained that I wasn't in a tribe.

So I relogged and it's back to square 0 for me.
