Think of the pain of having a cannon your size, 100 mph, hit you in the head and you fall into a endless pit with spikes at the end, and you become bubbles, just to come back to like very shortly after, to relive it.

In racing you have to go as fast as possible to the end, or else a strange wall will kill you instantly, basically falling to your death sideways.
