Not enough screenshots on page 7. Here are my current entries for the August contest (subject to change throughout the next few weeks): [url=]Category 1: Dynamic Art[/url] @2707101 - Dugtrio I pretty much gave up on trying to find an idea for dynamic art, but then I saw a static dugtrio art map and thought "well, this would be easy to animate." Dugtrio is an oldschool Pokemon, for those who don't know, and this map pretty much teaches you what it does for a living. What goes on under the hole stays under the hole. ![]() [url=]Category 2: P8 Puzzle[/url] @1045190 - Untitled I scrapped numerous ideas for this category, but after finishing every other category decided to just whip something up and this turned out perfectly in my opinion. This isn't just a big sliding game: it's an actual puzzle. It's simple, but it involves thinking. Overall I like the outcome of this map. The only problem is it might be too hard for most shamans, even with two minds working together. ![]() [url=]Category 3: Freestyle[/url] @2705023 - Sink or Swim I had another entry for this category (@2693599), but I think this one really "fits" the XML. This month's freestyle challenge was 15 gravity. We had to make something centric around gravity. It just so happens mice without cheese are at equilibrium in water; they don't float nor sink. This means that any vertical velocity gained in water is constant. This map utilizes this nifty effect of 15 gravity water and the low default restitution of grass grounds to create unique gameplay entirely centric around this gravity challenge. At first you might be confused, but once you play the map a few times you'll see it's very neat. ![]() [url=]Category 4: Vampire Survival[/url] @2680602 - Pillars in the Sky Yet another sceneric vampire survival map, this time gameplay held absolute priority over everything. This map is full of shortcuts, quick escapes and "safe spots" (hard to reach by unskilled players). I can't point out all of the shortcuts that exist in this map, but there are a lot. Additionally, I inadvertently made cornerjumping a little bit easier in general (though still not so much that escaping vampires is ridiculously easy). It still takes skill, but it's less "I hope I hit the corner!" and more actually positioning (>implying normal cjs are luck) yourself right in the heat of the moment. Overall this map features wonderful gameplay. I also made sure mice couldn't escape vampires in the water by adding a pillar in the deep spot for vampires to run down. I really think this is a good vampire map overall and of my 4 this one has the best actual gameplay. ![]() |

Delete water in your vampire survivor map, it's not autorized. You can also add decorations in this map. It can be better than now! EDIT: I like your art dynamic art. |

Quentin a dit : I added water because they said not to, because it doesn't make it easier (if you read my summary of the map) and actually acts as a perfect trap when mice mess up. If anything the water is an obstacle which adds to the overall gameplay not in a negative way but a positive one. Since this is a forced cheese map especially. They also mentioned not using mechanisms, however Jerrymito's submission used them, and a crew member aught to know what's allowed and what isn't, eh? And I did add decorations: two torches. I added what I felt was necessary and too much is overkill. As an artist I feel I put just the right touches on it and would like to avoid such overkill. |

Water shouldn't be used on vampire maps coz the water glitch... I used 2 dynamic grounds on my P11 map but they don't affect too much the gameplay. |

Iulianbuhai a dit : 1. The water glitch is not an excuse to not use water. Should we refrain from using water in bootcamps because someone can cheat? No. It's an exploit, not legitimate gameplay. Water glitching is cheating, just like hacking. Any map that's possible to complete can be cheated with hacks. Water's no different. 2. I specifically stated both in my summary and in the post straight above yours that cheese is forced when you spawn, so water is a TRAP, not an ADVANTAGE. You cannot water glitch nor float at all with cheese. Period. I wish people would read... |

You have cheese. And when you sink you're easily caught because the water is shallow and the deep spot was specifically fixed to let vampires sink. Can you guys seriously just read my summary of the map? I explain all of this. |
