[INTERFACE] Default Room Selection |

Not only when logging in, but also when leaving the map editor. This is a simple suggestion, but it'd have a huge impact. Isn't it a pain to log in from the main page or official client (those clever ones know to salon parameter in the URL), then have to sit through a very bothersome wait time for everyone to load? What about leaving the map editor? You can't even prevent this burden when exporting maps! Solution? Well, first of all, I want to stay in the map editor after exporting a map. If I want to leave, there's an option for that. I might fancy making a few maps because I'm on a creative streak. That happens a lot. What of when I do leave the map editor, or when I do log in? Well, those of us with tribes tend to be more decisive on what rooms we join than those of us without... A new player without a tribe is likely to enjoy being distributed randomly into whatever room they can play in. Someone with a tribe is likely more experienced and would like to play with tribemates or friends in specific rooms. Those of us are the ones most bothered by the random distribution and loading times associated. Why am I mentioning tribes? Well, my solution is this: make the default room you log into or exit to from the map editor your tribe's house. Simple as that. Unless your tribe is ridiculously large and active, you shouldn't have the same problem as public rooms when logging in, so I don't think the counterargument "well, then you have the same problem in the tribe house" is really a stable one. People are most likely going to leave to whatever room they want soon after the quick trip to the tribe house as they would after the arduous load of whatever other room they were sent to. Opinions? |

this does seem like a good idea but the likely-ness of this happening is only in the future, good idea tho. |

I love this idea! I really don't like being thrown in a random room. |

I support this 101%. I'm tired of dying because of login lag. |

You have my support. I've always hated the lag that comes with getting tossed into a crowded room. |

The same thing will happen when you leave your tribehouse into whatever room you go to, won't help the lag level (well I guess it would if you normally just go to a random room and then /room straight out of there). But it won't help my lag level and would just be annoying to me since I like being placed in random rooms everytime I log on, but I don't want to be without a tribe just so I can still log into random rooms without having to /room. I do agree about your point to do with map editor though, I usually want to create multiple maps when I load up the editor and being sent out to a room from there is annoying, escpially since I don't actually care what the @code is since I get all my map codes from cfm. |

Cheerydog a dit : Your tribe house doesn't load instantly? I typically append &salon=randomroom to load in an empty room by default and there is literally zero loading when I do that. For the few people who like random rooms, just typing /room would distribute the the same way. It'd be a tiny bit of effort for those few people while saving a cummulatively far larger amount of time for everyone else. |

Fxie a dit : The tribehouse loads instantly, however I'm still going to get the lag upon doing /room I see that loading bar whenever I use that function, so spawning in tribehouse won't change anything for me. |

Cheerydog a dit : Well yes, that won't go away, but for *most* people, this is replacing the lag of joining a random room AND joining the room they want with only one of the two. It's a little more time for you, but for a lot of people it's twice as fast, get what I mean? Also, some people might go to a room with only 10 or so friends, which is far faster than being distributed to some 20-30 mouse room. |

Mewly a dit : Fxie a dit : Cheerydog a dit : Mizithra a dit : In the Transformice.com Link Add this: /?salon=<your room> example: Transformice.com/?salon=392392 |

Dracopta a dit : As stated in my original post, many people don't know this or use the official client without this option. You can't just tell everyone in the game that this method exists. Also, the editor default room situation remains relevant. |

Dracopta a dit : I don't know about you, but when it's loading, everything I type appears slowly. When I get put into a random room, I do quickly type /room Fxie and hit enter to get out of it ASAP. However, the input delay goes along with the lag, and the letters appear very slowly--enter key included. |
