Lava bug in Bootcamp? |

I noticed that it seems lava is bugged again? It's made a lot of maps in bootcamp impossible ;v; So I've decided to let y'all know about it. e-e It's reeeaaally annoying... edit: Well, it appears that ALL grounds are different Whatever this is, I hate it. (From Topic-465232 ): All grounds, including your usual 0 friction grounds like ice and lava, seem to have increased friction. It kinda breaks bootcamp. Completely. |

The broken lava is the biggest indicator of it as even +0.1 friction on 0 friction lava breaks it. Maps with high restitution trampolines are dodgy aswell. Running on ice isn't as fast as before. Some wood blocks that you'd have to double or triplebouncejump to and even then get a lucky animation to grab can be now done easily. Wj'ing on highly tilted chocolate is way easier. Stuff like that. All verified last night. |

-Im not sure whats going on with ice, you can get out throught slanted ice on maps like this: Since you cant get enought speed on this map is imposible to get to hole: @3085218 -Low restitution lava (like 8) seems ok, but normal lava (rest 20) is broken. -As for wood, looks like friction is lower (0,2??) since you can slide a bit on it. Also is posible to long jump without standing on corner (like on 30 fps update). Cant this be reverted like on 30 fps update? Right now gameplay is totally broken, even worst that 30 fps. |

If these "changes" are intentional, it's a big fuck you to every player who has learned to play with the old grounds, even if you don't account for the countless of broken maps. It's pretty ridiculous. I logged in to check if my observations from yesterday still were true. Now ice is still high friction, lava and trampolines are glitched too. Chocolate and wood seem to have lowered friction from yesterday. Currently too low I think, wallpushing and longjumping are all sorts of wonky. |

Id like to see some confirmation from admins, but if this is true its a sad day. If Tig was fixing crashing, why not just disable shaman items collision with lava/tramps? I prefer crashing once in a while that this gameplay. |

I quite don't understand why these changes cannot be ran through someone who actually knows how the game mechanics work in practice, before implementing them. It should be obvious that if you make even the slightest of alterations to the way the mice interact with grounds it'll have major consequences. I read about the recent update on removing a few animation sprites from the mice and how that lead to a bunch of unwanted side-effects; had someone asked me, I could've told you it's going to break the fundamental mechanics of the game and anger all bootcampers and racers simply because a vast majority of what we do rely on using the different animations to our advantage. The consequences for these changes aren't unforseeable if you actually understand how the mechanics are being employed by the players in the game. Not to be mean, but I can't help but to feel that the developers have always lacked that kind of insight. Sorry for the rant, but I kinda wanted to maybe start playing actively again. Finding the game to be, simply put, unplayable wasn't what I was expecting or hoping. |
