Hey guys! I don't tend to use this forum but I wanna share with you something that SHOULD be changed. So, it's been 2 days I've been trying to contact a moderator and they either don't reply at all or get mad when criticized how they work, like here: < [14:50] [Aewing] hello, I'm trying to change my password but the activation code is not arriving to my e-mail. Can you help me? < [15:00] [Aewing] keep on ignoring, great job, mod team! < [15:08] [Aewing] I might have stated it wrong; you're an online mod to help people so could you maybe do your frigging job or just quit the modteam...? > [15:08] [FR] [Aewing] You have nothing to state, mods are not player's slaves and don't have to be available h24 for them. > [15:09] [FR] [Aewing] Now, seeing how you're talking, you can help yourself alone. > [15:09] [FR] [Aewing] Bye. < [15:09] [Aewing] I asked you a question and it's not about being mod or a player to answer a question < [15:09] [Aewing] its about personal manners < [15:10] [Aewing] and yeah, I do get mad when I'm trying to contact mods/admins from 2 days and noone answers < [15:10] [Aewing] oh the almight mister raged even more, I shall report it as well This is annoying. Why are there useless moderators? Can't they be fired and replaced with people who DO actually answer people and help with their problems...? Cheers |

Preach it, Kro. A lot of these moderators have their whispers disabled saying 'report', when we don't even need to report anyone. We just need a question about maps, or like you said, passwords, and even when they're whispers are on, you ask them an important question, they don't even care to answer. They ignore you. |

Sad to see your having troubles Krolu. The mods should help out players, although the most of them have whispers turned off or simply doesn't care about anything else than banning hackers. |

As if Moderators aren't busy, if you actually look at the "leak tfm truth shit" But honestly, you have the "Question and Answer" thread RIGHT in this Sub-forum to ask. Players are more free handed than moderators currently. Is not like they are the only option. Got an issue? use the IRC or use the "Contact Us" button in the Transformice Site |

This, as you called it, "leak" is not about moderators being busy but about a mod showing his moods instead of actually doing his job. Maybe he was busy, maybe not, it's none of players' businness. He had time to go into a sulk so I am certain he also could use this time to answer my question. And yeah, I already tried both Contact Us and IRC. |

techtriostep a dit : Contant Us takes a long time for the TFM staff to respond, and sometimes mice need an immediate or short response to their question, it might be an emergency. Some one might be hacking them over and over again, and they need to change their password quick. And on the IRC, sometimes mods don't answer either. Yes, we know, mods are busy, but they aren't busy ALL the time, it's the admins who are the ones that are extremely busy, not the mods. |

Mods are not obliged to reply to players if they need help. You can contact a helper or post in the Q&A thread instead, as you will get a swifter reply if you do so. Nonetheless, if I were to answer your question, I would say try later, since the password changing system tends to occasionally break. |

Let's clarify things a bit : - Mods don't have to be available for players 24/7, then we have our reasons to have a /silence when we do it. - Mods are players before being mods and don't have to spend all their in game time moderating the game. (And by the way regarding this particular case, helping the other servers isn't my main priority even if I often do it, since I'm FR) - We get tons of whispers at the same time and you're not alone so we can't see all the messages and we possibly can miss some of them. Anyway, being rude isn't at all the good solution. As I said mods aren't your slaves and you have to understand we can't always be here. If you're not nice with mods there is absolutely no reason we have to help you. Just like people IRL, actually. :) Just reminding me you sent me a whisper would have been a better choice instead of getting angry because I didn't see your message. Yeah @Wonderdashh, Contact Us takes terribly long. I once had an issue and it took 4 weeks to solve it. It's pretty upsetting because players who really were in emergency wouldn't be able to do anything. I gave IRC a second try and got some answers. @Safwanrockz - if mods are not obligated to help/solve problems what are they for then? Hackers you may say? Well, I've been a moderator in other game and I have never refused to help anybody. Oh and @Aewing- first, it's joy to my eyes to see you finally answer. Let's clarify one thing: all mods were fully aware of what being a mod means when they applied. It's a voluntary job and you volunteer to help others. Sure, you get tons of whispers, I don't doubt but players just get frustrated when they've been trying to contact online mods for 2 days and noone answered. And being rude? My criticism had a reason- being ignored by 5 moderators. And it was just criticism. I didn't insult you, I didn't cuss you. Maybe you simply can't accept being criticised? Sorry then, must be my fault. Anyway, it was like 'I despise you, help yourself if you don't like the way our team works', at least I comprehended it this way. Not an answer I would expect from a role model... Dernière modification le 1403187960000 |

Wonderdashh a dit : There is no such thing as being hacked on this game. Nine times out of ten most "hacking" cases are simply because a user's password isn't secure, or because they shared their password with a friend, and that friend then in turn shared it with everybody. You don't know what a mod does so you can't at all say they're not "extremely busy." Some mods are map crew members, some are sentinels, some are Lua devs. Alternatively mods are players first, and if a mod wants to play the game, they hold that right. In the case in the OP, it's possible the mod had a lot of whispers/reports and missed the whisper received. Mods can't help if the mail server is down by the way. |

Yes, I agree with @Haruhitastic that there's no such thing as being hacked and I also wasn't hacked, I just want to change my password everywhere because I'm freshly born single. Yes, I also agree that it's possible the mod had a lot of whispers/reports and he missed the whisper but he didn't miss further whispers. Instead of helping he showed his mood and that's my point. Being a mod is a bit like being a policeman. You want to help others and you feel it's your aim. You don't expect people to love you and you know you will be criticised but you have your morals and you help when it's needed. A policeman who refuses to help a victim because they criticised them is a bad policeman. |

I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't get a mod to respond to your whispers, but please don't interpret this as us ignoring you or that we don't care. We try and answer as many people's concerns as we can but when we say that we get swamped with whispers we're not exaggerating. Here's two screenshots of some whispers I get within literally five minutes of logging on. The tabs are all people whispering me too. ![]() ![]() These aren't even at peak times. On top of this we are trying to watch hackers, spammers and all other reports we get via the report system. It's not surprising that we can miss some questions or reports with all this going on. We understand fully how frustrating it is to not get a reply from a Mod; we're all players too and there were times when we were in the exact same situation as you. We are trying our hardest to help everyone but it requires a bit of patience from everyone too. This is why we have multiple ways of contacting Mods; we have these forums where you can directly message any mod about anything, we have the Staff FAQ where you can also read up and ask questions about the staff and we also have an IRC channel. Not to mention there's a Questions and Answers thread where everyone can ask general questions about anything TFM related. I know a common solution that people always say to us is 'Why don't you just get more mods?' but frankly it's not as simple as that. Finding suitable candidates (Players who are 18 or over, trustworthy, committed to helping out and with an appropriate personality and attitude) is very time consuming and difficult. It's easy to think it's just an easy role of ban hackers and that anyone can do it but it's much more than that, as any mod or ex-mod will attest to. There really isn't a perfect solution that magically solves everyone's problem despite things seeming simple at times. So again, please don't think that we don't care, it's quite the opposite. We recognise that it's not always a smooth process getting our attention but we are working as best as we can with the tools and time we have. After all like people have mentioned here, we are just volunteers. Regarding your initial question, if you have already checked your spam mail for the code and still haven't received it then I'm presuming you may have a Yahoo email address. I know there have been some issues with the activation codes being sent to Yahoo accounts but as far as I'm aware it's on Yahoo's end and not TFM's end. At any rate, Moderators don't have access to any tools or resources that deal with the email verification system, it is entirely handled by the Admins. You can send an email to them via the Contacts page explaining the system and I'm sure they will be able to help you out with the situation. |
