This is a prototype of what I think to be a really cool option of selecting your abilities. For kicks I modified the interface to show the mouse that you mouse over, and included arrows and a team based scoreboard that you click to change between targets. I also added a health bar on the portrait because I would love to see this game with shaman battles etc where health is a factor. I know some things may have been suggested before, like shaman battles, health bars, key binds, etc... I just wanted to show that this Skill Wheel would work nicely with ideas many people support.

Now more about this Skill Wheel, it is simply a sphere to show what you are casting, your health, and a single ability button at the bottom center. Around this sphere are other multiple spheres containing various shaman abilities. The single ability button bellow the health bar, (which I put as a totem for this example) can be swapped with a different ability. The shaman abilities orbiting around the main piece can be selected by left click. These can be cycled clockwise or counter clockwise(excluding the single button ability) by left clicking the up and down arrows on the left and right side, but also by scrolling your mouse wheel up or down.

The skill wheel can stay next to the chat (as shown in picture), but there is an option of creating its own mobile expandable/minimizable window within the game. There is a ("M") modify button that will allow you to apply hotkeys and different profile settings depending on what shaman mode you are in. You can also hide and change the order of shaman abilities on the Skill Wheel, this Skill Wheel will also account for transforming maps.

If you have any questions please ask away. If you have any criticisms let me know your reasons so I can work for your support in the future.
Also If you have any suggestions on how to make this better I am all ears.

I'm sure this will add another high level of competition between the players once again, it's a great idea and feature to the game, i hope the admins would also like it and added to the game. ;p

Okay.
How does the health bar works?
I think it will just complicate everything.
The idea is that you die, you die.
You either get revived or stay dead.
And what is the idea of selecting a main skill to be put under the health bar versus the skills around the health bar?

Well I have a few ideas, one of which is floors and and certain spawns cause damage but this thread is mainly about this Skill Wheel apparatus so I don't want to get too in depth. But health would only be a factor in certain game modes.

To have a button you don't have to scroll to click or assign a key bind too. Also just for kicks.

I did read that they will not be accepting suggestions that dramatically change gameplay.
I feel like this falls under one of those.

So it works like a hotkey then?
Well we already have a hotkey system that can spawn up to Long Planks.
That is significantly more than just having one hotkeyed item at a time.
Not to mention you can program additional hotkeys on third party softwares to encompass the entire object list.
The only thing I like about this is that you do not have to scroll through a list to spawn objects.
What I do not like is everything else.
How sensitive will the scroll behave anyways?

Like I said, I only like the idea of handling the multiple shaman objects.
I do not like anything else.
It is more simple that way to have just a toggle button between the wheel and the scroll list instead of adding a bunch of additional things just to make it flashy.

Glad to hear you like it. For awhile i thought you did not like this idea. Keep in mind this is just a prototype, If you like the Ability Selector [Skill Wheel] you essentially like the suggestion, not suggestions. You saying that you do not like anything else is implying that I'm suggesting multiple things. That I am not, I just wanted to show that this Skill Wheel would work nicely with ideas I and many people support.

RIP TFM Simplicity

Though this is a genuinely well constructed basis of an idea it is indeed complex. The wheel itself just gets rid of the name list of people in the room, and to make it a separate window would just clog up the game screen. I like the design of it, but will it fit in TFM? I don't think it would work too well. The spawning system is already fine in my opinion. I applaud you for putting in the effort to make this suggestion presentable, but I personally do not support. I also can't see why they'd need to implement health bar, it's just too complex and in a way ruins the type of gameplay TFM runs on.

I do not know why you need to know who is in the room.
If you are looking for a friend their names and room will appear on the friends list.
Also, OP stated that you can switch between the scroll and the wheel so if do you need to look for someone, you can just toggle back.
And in a way, the wheel works better than the scroll, with so much items being constantly added to the game, we need a better management system and the wheel sort of works as that.

Thank you for your concern, It is quite complex and if this was implemented i'd hope they would put a tutorial on the help page that is accessible in-game. The wheel doesn't get rid of the rooms name list, and shamans cant see who gets into the hole as it is right now, if that is what you were talking about. I also hope the external window would be transparent(till cursor touches), mobile, expandable and borderless. The health bar and stuff is not really my suggestion, I just wanted to show how the skill wheel works well with other ideas. This is only a prototype, I imagine an acceptable version would not apply the healthbar or team based scoreboard unless you were in a game mode that requires it.

Inthebin has a good point, items are being constantly added to the game and we need a better management system. I see this wheel format as a potential answer. In the future, I'll resubmit an edited version of this idea and address all these issues and hopefully with more screens and explanation.
