Finding reasons to start playing Transformice again. |

I guess you could say this is a personal matter, but I am not willing to let it bubble in my mind. I've played Transformice ever since 2013 and found it rather fun and addicting, but there are a few troubles as to why I have begun to lose interest: -The front page. It's all the same things, whether it's fanart by skilled artists which make some others feel put down and discriminated (Which is why I stopped drawing too.) or events that have little to no concern to the community. -The moderation. Sure, rooms are moderated, but there aren't many moderators who willingly do their job. The people in the A801 office are far too busy working on new games and fixing bugs in the current ones. There was a whole thing for people being able to become a moderator and such, but I haven't really seen anything after that and nothing was done about it after. -Several competitive modules. The worst offender here being #traitor, competitive modules have lost their spark for 'fun', and have caused the biggest amounts of butthurt for trying to work together as a team for and against eachother. In past experiences, I have actually been accused of being a public account before. -Age verification. Oh my dear god, at least make a DOB for the registration. Transformice is meant to be for those who are 13 or older, correct? Then why are there 10 year olds playing it?! Another thing to point out for moderation. -Soulmates. Before the 2014 Valentine's event, I was having fun with playing TFM, but when the new Marriage option came out with soulmates, everyone got so sore about getting a soulmate it made me wonder whether I was playing an online game about mice getting cheese or playing an online virtual blind dating site with mice conveniently placed into it. -The CheeseForMice leaderboard. This, Atelier801, is how to create problems. Never put an online leaderboard in a peaceful game. I never knew of it until I first signed into CFM, but when I saw it I realized how it chained to all the 'popular' players. Made me realize that 'pro' was just someone who was guaranteed to move up the leaderboard really quickly or just some sympathy for another player who has to use a guest account. -Guest accounts vs. Statpadders. When a guest account gets involved in a game, it will eventually get a first. When there is a first, there is a mouse who will kill themselves and stop the Shaman getting saves- Also called a statpadder. These 'statpadders' will do anything to get to the top of the leaderboard- And I wonder why? Though to be honest... I realize that Tig is a mere troll. So perhaps it's because I just don't feel like playing a game full of trolls because of a troll? I may be thinking this through too much. |

Respectfully, if you don't like Transformice you are by no means obligated to continue playing. Those of us who do in general enjoy our experience will carry on doing so and you may find you are happier away from a website that causes you such distress. The problems you bring up have been discussed elsewhere in the forums, quite thoroughly, and I encourage you to seek out those threads and find solace in their empathy. This game isn't without problems but you seem to be stuck on enough of them that I would advise you to take a break from the game. No use in making yourself miserable by prolonged exposure to something you consider to be toxic. - As far as I am aware, players spend next to no time on the front page. I can't quite fathom why it bothers you but if it's the art, I see varying styles and levels of skill in the display and do not believe you should put yourself down by comparing yourself to other people. Your art is valuable, even if you don't believe it to be so. - The moderation is a topic of wide concern and countless players are urging the Transformice staff to hire more moderators to keep TFM a friendly, safe place for everyone. However, those mods who put a great deal of effort into helping their fellow mice deserve all our respect. - I understand if competition is not for you. If you are uncomfortable playing in rooms where competition seems to be getting out of hand, I would recommend moving to a different room. Gather a group of friends to play with you. There will always be butthurt players on Transformice and there will always be kind, reasonable players as well. I don't like the competitiveness that comes with getting firsts in rooms of 11+, so I typically play in small vanilla rooms. I like the fun and the lack of stress and harassment in these small rooms. - Transformice is meant for ages 13 and up but the rules state that people under that age may play with their parents' permission. It may not be ideal, but they are definitely allowed to play. Reading the Terms and Conditions may prove enlightening for you. It was for me. - You are not required to have a soulmate. Nor do soulmates have to be romantic interests for online dating. I became soulmates with my Transformice best friend and we don't feel that it's a big deal. It's just a fun thing that you can choose to do, if you so desire. - Leader boards are what they are. I'm not sure I understood your explanation of them but I assure you, they're not going to go away. - Statpadders are annoying. This is widely acknowledged. They are also not something you can put a stop to. Again, I suggest going to a small room where firsts don't count, as you will never, ever have to encounter them there. It's very liberating. - No one insults Tig. Whether or not you keep playing is your choice but I'd say the idea is, if you dislike something to this extent then it's in your best interests to simply walk away from it. |

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my comment. I understand what you mean, I guess I was just sleepy and a little irritated, stress had taken over a bit. I do have respect for all players of the community one way or another, especially the A801 staff. (Though I will admit that Tig can be a bit of a troll to other players, as from what I have heard by Melibellule. When it comes to playing in a quiet room I normally do that, I invite one or two friends that I have made to a Racing room where we can chat and collect cheese quickly and efficiently, as difficult as some of the maps can be. I'm rarely on at the time now because of college being a main part of my life, but when I feel a tad competitive I just play some Survivor for kicks. I've decided to keep playing for a while so I can hang around with the few mice I can keep in contact only through TFM. |

If anyone would ever need any reason to keep playing TFM, your friends would be the best reason. All of my best friends are on TFM (basically my tribe) and I actually trust them more than my family and I feel like I can be myself around them. I've told them things I've never told anyone else. I'm not quite sure everyone has a relationship like that on TFM but I'm pretty sure everyone has friends. |
