Regarding Fight |

I'm sure you're all aware of the module #fight which before it was a module/LUA, was once one of the biggest minigames in Transformice. It had hundreds of thousands of players and a legit 93k that at least played 20 rounds(Research was done by a player named Sonicherois). A lot has happened since the discussion in 2013 regarding fight's future. Go here for the 2013 thread Now in 2015, I look at the current fight and I have to say, I can't believe what it has come to. Our numbers have dropped beyond belief, and probably continue to drop as we speak. Also, there has not been any updates for this module in a long time. It seems to me that it is really only #easypvp and the Fight Tournaments that keep players around. What do you guys think should be done for #fight? Do you think the Administrators made a mistake? In my opinion, the Administrators are responsible for #fight's decline. Fight was an essential part of TFM's playersize. Feel free to add anything else that relates to Fight's situation. Yep, we share similar views on this but sadly Tig said that he will never consider bot stuff which makes me highly doubt that there will ever be a return of old fight which sucks because of the Cheeseformice rankings were a great addition =(. |

I don't see what can be done with bots that cannot be done with the Module API. Several modules have rankings saved onto external means such as Deathmatch's leaderboard which can be accessed via Micetigri.fr. Also, in my opinion, I don't think the admins made any mistake with this case, on the contrary they made coding minigames a lot easier than it was with bots before. With the Module API, you can code a minigame that looks exactly like the old fight minigame, though a fight minigame with a lot more features exists at the meantime, but the problem is that no one plays it anymore; either it's because a lot of people quit the game, or it's because minigames have lost much of their enjoyability despite the fact that the Module API brings too many features and functionalities that bots couldn't provide. |

The thing is we need something new to get more players to play it. Stats leaderboard would be nice for a start, it would bring more competitive players. |

I agree with Safwanrockz. The minigame runs quite well and the new features that Module API brings are amazing, allowing this minigame be played in all of the communities and even private PvP's, but the minigame by it self has lost a lot of enjoyability. I'm not sure if this is the case, but I'll bring my thought's into the discussion, since I was one of those people who used to play Fight in En almost non-stop. 1) Appearance of skill trees - Now, I know that Skills are deactivated in the Minigame, but they still had a huge effect on it. Let me explain, since the skills appeared, players in overall have lost a lot of personal practice and skills. Having skill trees like Mechanician, that boost the summoning speed and range, players just adapted towards that, leaving behind what they learned in the past. Now I'm writing from my personal experience, when I got used to few of the Mechanician skills, I literally couldn't play Fight anymore. I always tried to spawn the cannonball, but I always let go of the left mouse key before the cannonball has spawned (that happened, because I got used to the increased summoning speed and when I tried to spawn cannons rapidly in -30% speed, it was tragedy). 2) Spread the fight community thin - Since Fight was re-made into Module API, a lot of rooms opened up where players could 1v1 each other in every community. In the past if I remember correctly, Fight rooms were only in En server, now it can be played from any server and make any PvP rooms by just putting #fight into the room name start and putting infinite numbers to make it private (ex: /room #fight55555535434231). The fight community was spread thin, that's why the number of players in the same room just fell in half if not even worse. 3) Players aren't interested on testing their skills - Now this might be wrong, but I'm just putting my point of view. In the past, I found out about /room #fight1 from people talking in random rooms, from few of my friends. It was a big deal in 2012-2013 year, because everyone heard of it and everyone tried to test their skills and if they failed, they trained and improved their skills. Now, 2014 year.. I have heard of Fight maximum 5 times being mentioned and of those times few players said it's not worth going there. Now why is that? It's because players are more focused on levels and stats then being able to do things other's couldn't. Players aren't focusing on improving their skills anymore, no one cares if you could spirit jump or be able to win against 10 players, everyone are just focused on getting those levels to be able to make clouds, spawn dead mice and with ease build long builds that not everyone could do in the past. Old players have lost the skills they worked so hard to master, now those skills are just being laughed at and forgotten. 4) No one invites new players to the Minigame - As I said above, in 2012-2013, the minigame was the thing, players could find out about it from other people chats, friend invites and it was easy to find. Now there is no buzz to make the players interested in the minigame and new players can't enjoy, because they just simply have no idea that it even exists. And even if players do find it in the Room explorer under minigame section, they aren't even tempted on pressing #fight, because none of their friends play there. Now these are my opinions and thoughts upon the subject with some personal experience upon the matter. I do miss those good old days when things you learned, could take you far and the blood boiling exciting fights were the best, but things have changed and there's not much you can do about it anymore.. safwanrockz a dit : I agree with what you've said on the most part. Unfortunately, this module has been left the same for a long time. Module API could bring so much to #fight, but only if someone is willing to put in the time to work on the game and improve it from the original mini-game. There's no sense in bringing something new to the table if you're not going to actually use it to the fullest extent(or at all really in this case). If this was how(which it seems to be as far as I'm aware) it was going to be, we were better off with the original version. [Sentinel] Posts merged. Please use the edit feature in the future. sonicherois a dit : Thanks for also posting, I appreciate your opinion on the matter. Now, lets get started shall we. 1. I just can't agree with. It isn't difficult at all to adapt to the current fight styles from the skill trees. It has been a good while since the skills were finally removed, it wouldn't be difficult at all to adjust(based off of personal experience). 2. I have to disagree with what you said. I'm assuming by pvp rooms, you mean #easypvp? Also, fight rooms weren't only in EN. The bots were spread out. Also, stats only count in each servers "#fight" room, as well as "*#fight. As for pvps, that's #easypvp, where you can pvp others in your own server, as well as players from other servers. 3. Fight was a main component for training shamans and mouses for other games such as survivor. However, I can agree with the Skill tree statement. Although, people are starting to get bored of it. It's not worth going to because nothing beneficial has been done to the module. For one, there isn't even an international, weekly, monthly or national(For the different servers)high scores for the module, so it's no surprise that you haven't even heard much about fight. 4. Hence why I said that something needs to be done, so people will be interested and invite their friends. Imagine if #Deathmatch didn't even have an overall and seasonal high-scores. Also, the challenges in order to obtain new cannons. There is quite a lot that can be done about it, but that's only if some time is given for it. Again, just look at #Deathmatch. Sorry in advance, I meant to edit my second post and add this quotation and my response into it. Dernière modification le 1436958840000 |

I think people just got sick of the concept of fight and with the current module not being updated due to the author being inactive is also a factor (No maps, no new modes, commands, etc..) It's just overall lame. If someone who is willing to rework fight please step in and contact Ediz, that might be the only thing that can save this module from going downhill. |

I used to play fight a lot back when the bot used to run it due to the simple fact of “people” it was more fun more competitive, the stats were more of a motivation for people to be “the best”. Yes I know that bots were never intended to be permanent but I didn’t know that the absence of birdbot would cause a mindboggling decrease in the numbers of players this problem needs to be addressed otherwise the total numbers will decrease to 0players. |

yes the best thing to do would be to consider the return of birdbot and fixing the problems that skills have caused and maybe people might actually start replaying tfm/fight. though its unlikely birdbot will be up again reading what fastxoxaz has said it seems the admins have completely washed their hands with bots Fastxozax a dit : |

hammerthee a dit : Yeah, bringing the bots back isn't an option. Even if they did, Cptp is long gone now. What they need to do is find someone who is willing to put in the time and effort needed to improve this module so it will gain more activity. I agree with the fact that LUA is more efficient. Ediz doesn't seem keen on working on this game anymore(based on the past few months). Dernière modification le 1422459000000 |

There should be a Leaderboard, with Seasonal and Global ranks, Just like Deathmatch. Maybe even cannon/box/plank/rune Rewards for doing certain objectives. Example : New Cannon available in #Fight only, If you win 15 fights in a row. New Plank available in #Fight only, If you get 200 Draws. These things might help reawakening this old Game. |
