So there is a big problem with #Deathmatch in general. Laggers. Some Laggers are just annoying because of how many times you kill them. But Some are so laggy they become invisible during matches. So the point is , we probably cant fix the main game , but we may be able to fix the tournaments. -------------------------------------------------------------The Plan-------------------------------------------------------- There are 2 Types of Tournaments inside DM tournament. Loser Tournament and DM Tournament. Now The Leagues. People with m/s (ping) 0-80 Go Into A+ Category and even if they lose they can still participate in Loser's Tournaments. People with m/s (ping) 80-125 Go into A+ Category and can still participate in Loser's Tournament. People with m/s (ping) 125-400 Go into A Category and if they lose to people who have ping 0-125 They cannot participate in Losers Tournament. People with m/s (ping) 400-1200 Go into B Category they cannot take 1st to 5th place and cannot go into Losers Tournament. People with m/s (ping) 1200-2000 Cannot take places 10th to 15th and cannot participate in Losers Tournament. People with m/s (ping) 2000+ are Disqualifed. -------------------------------------------------------- SECURITY -------------------------------------------- Moderators will be watching players and if they show big signs of lagging they will ask to do /ping and take a screenshot. At Finals there must be atleast 2-3 Moderators watching the fight. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not everyone is going to agree with these rules but its the most fair way to make DM Tournaments. And some of you don't actually notice how big of a problem lag is in DM. |

First off, deathmatch is indeed very dependent on latency, we can't do anything about that, we've optimized the code as much as we can and Tigrounette has also changed the way cannons work not so long ago to make them move less glitchy (teleporting). Players going invisible is a known bug on tfm, no idea when that is ever going to be fixed entirely. As much as I like the idea of categorizing by latency, sadly, 1. anyone can lie about their ping, a screenshot can be faked easily (not to mention how many kids don't know how to take a screenshot and upload it...), we can't ping players in a module, nor can tfm mods check it from other players 2. latency isn't constant, someone's ping could be 0-80 when applying and when starting the fight, it may well be over 200. Even if you move players into a different category upon starting the fight, it will be a huge hassle organizing 3. (followup of 2) people could purposely induce lag by causing other heavy internet traffic in the background (downloading/uploading) You can however turn off clothes (/nue), use the optimization settings and turn off the custom cannons in deathmatch to reduce a bit of client lag, not much I know :( Dernière modification le 1423321500000 |

Laggers are also having problems with cannon jumping and aiming. In their screens, you are all teleporting as well, and not to mention, delays. If this rule applies there will be less chance for laggers to join tournaments which is unfair for them. |
