Noctoc a dit : I don't think they would bother to make an entire server for old ground textures alone. |

There are servers where there are many players . And on other servers there are very few players on some servers and no one . |

Emberkitx a dit : Confused by this.. We still only get one cheese per round, right? 3,000 cheese a day assuming that rounds actually last 2 minutes, one cheese per round = 6,000 minutes 6,000 minutes = 100 hours -And there's def. not 100 hours a day? Even at rounds being one minute each, 3000 cheese per day would be 50 hours? 24 hours at rounds being 1 minute long (to give room for short rounds) would be 1,140 cheese a day if you played for 24 hours straight and actually got cheese every single round, right? My brain hurts, maybe I'm off..? Someone help. ;~; Haha. And to stay on topic: No, I don't think it's dying. The amount of servers they have now compared to the beginning of the game is very different, so communities are not as smashed together anymore. I never have trouble with my room not being 20+ mice, so I'm not sure what you're seeing unless you're in a high-numbered room. ): |

Oh, thought you meant that when you're in a vanilla/regular room or related, all the players start lagging and you have to either switch rooms or log off |

No. of online players over last week thx cfm big communities EN1 v EN2 EN1 is the dark brown line at the bottom usually peaking at less than 1000 players, EN2 the lighter brown line sometimes reaching the 2000 mark. I imagine the automatic sorting of new users into EN2 is the source of this difference. Personally I feel EN1 is much smaller than it was in 2011-12 because of less normal rooms being populated. But if Lemodile is correct in EN1 being relatively stable, perhaps the greater number of game modes and modules has divided the online players? |

I'd guess it's stable because players logging in from any community can go to EN1 if they click the blue cheese flag on the top of the room list. People doing this don't have the same chat as actual EN1 players in the room. All modules have a blue cheese flag too. Which is why there's so many module rooms in EN1, which go all day without anything spoken in chat. Normal rooms are also silent on off hours. Also I don't think it matters much if the population is in decline. It doesn't take many people to play this game. Years from now you'll still be able to find mice to play with. After a couple years every game starts dying down. Unless of course you're World of Warcraft, Runescape, etc. |
0 | ||
pls. Runescape has like 50k players or less. The counter at the top isn't accurate. Also World of Warcraft only has 7.5million active subscribers, with a game that big it won't have a lot of profit coming in anymore. There's already rumors about them releasing their last expansion pack soonish (6 months) |

When I made my very first account in 2012, there were quiet a lot of players. Now whenever I log on, I see less people playing. 2010 people are a very rare species these days I also had a few friends, who quit tfm last year or something because of the updates. I don't think tfm is dying. It's a good game. Why would I ever quit? |

I don't think that Transformice is dying out, especially because of the stats that were posted in the comments, but I do see why old players would be leaving. The skill level has changed, some updates just seem off, compared to 2011-2012, the game is becoming less rewarding for playing and more based on how many levels that you have. I remember how hard it was in the past. Hard mode was the thing, spirit jumps, cannon jumps, shaman vs shaman death matches, all that was fun, everyone was equal, only thing defined us from others was how much cheese and firsts we had and personal skill level, reaction time and shaman building speed and accuracy. I personally miss those days, and even though the skill's that were introduced isn't a bad update, but it changed the fundamental aspects of the game. Right now, Transformice is more or less a chat room, for most of the older players that is. I don't see anything that I could call, personal skill in game :( TL;DR = Transformice difficulty level has changed, thus a lot of personal skills that were developed in the past are not useful anymore, thus is why a lot of older players (from 2010-2012) have left. But their spots have been filled by newer players, that's why the drop doesn't really seem significant. P.s. Why is 2010 people get the "Omg you so old" treatment, I'm from 2011, and I still remember the old textured and how people played :/ Dernière modification le 1432014240000 |

Izupen a dit : There are still a lot of 2010 players, though. I know a ton of them, and see a lot that I don't even know. I am also a 2010 player, but I took a few breaks from tfm because of life, so maybe that's why you don't see too many? People dealing with life. Also might be the server you play on. |

In all honesty, TFM has just been getting boring. Every time new features are added, old players complain and they want tfm to be back to the old state it was in. However if TFM doesn't get new features it just feels stale and boring. There is just too much divide between new and old players. In all honesty, TFM should have a vanilla mode where we get to play the game with everything other than the basic stuff disabled. |

Sonicherois a dit : The skill system is one of the reasons why I mostly switched to bootcamp for an extended period of time. I still don't understand how anyone thought turning transformice into a wannabe MMORPG was remotely a good idea. |
