Ball Jumping Proof |

Haruhitastic a dit : I like how you chose to ignore the part where I said if I were to argue from your position I could say these things and start debating semantics instead of actually replying to any of my points. Let me remind you: Haruhitastic a dit : Prr a dit : Haruhitastic a dit : Is there not a stark difference in glitching objects/grounds to get yourself a spirit-like jump and using a game mechanic that the whole game is built upon? Is ball glitching not forcing the game mechanics to act different from how they're supposed to? You don't get to start an argument with a fallacy and then get to later call people out on using the exact same fallacy. You can't justify any glitch abuse by comparing it to walljumping because no glitch is comparable to a mechanic the whole game is built upon, even if that said mechanic was technically a bug in the beginning. Prr a dit : Wall jump is not a mechanic the game was "built upon." Wall jump was something that was built around because it became more prevalent, and as I've stated 8349849 times it was not intended but because of the popularity and the fact that maps were being built around it, it was never resolved. Same for corner jumping. We're just not going to see eye to eye on this and honestly, I've got more important things to do than get in a pissing contest about something that I personally don't even do. We're just gonna have to agree to disagree and move on. |

Haruhitastic a dit : Everyone and their grandmothers were walljumping months before map editor even came out. Even most of the old vanilla maps (what, 60 of them?) were made with the knowledge of it. which account for a fraction of the current game anyway. If 99.99% of the game content is based around a bug, I think falls under the category of an essential game mechanic instead of a glitch that is being abused. You could've argued otherwise 4 years ago, but trying to justify other glitch abuse with it now just seems rather silly is all. |

Probably wouldn't be playing this game right now if Wall-Jumping and Corner-Jump, or even Wall-Pushing and Long-jump didn't exist because then the whole "Race to be the fastest to the hole" concept would be super dull and boring, especially since then a majority of the time might have relied on who had the better ping and not who had the better "mechanics". As said before by Prr, Ball-Jumping pretty much breaks maps that aren't intended to be solo'd. Map 0, 4, 5, 17 (Not sure if these are right or not) and others are probably good examples of this. These maps however can't be done with wall-jumping or Corner-jumps without some interference from the Shaman. I can only imagine how many user-made maps this has probably broken as well, and again said by Prr -- I don't see anyone being able to make maps around Ball-Jumping that'd be fun or interesting to play for the same reason maps aren't made around spirit (besides not everyone having it). Anyone else remember Spirit glitch? That really helped Shaman's to build but also broke a lot of maps too, not as comparable as ball-jumping but at least that helped everyone in a sense. |
