Survivor Old Tactics Guide These are tips and tricks I have gathered from Survivor since 2011. I am aware there are several survivor guides in the forum but I hope these are still useful. These are NOT FACTS of being a better player in Survivor and you can dismiss any ideas here which makes you feel that it is useless to you. Bits of Old Survivor history: Before Survivor was officially a 801 module, Holz was the person who has created the mini game. There were 3 rules set by him: 1: No gods (Totems that instantly kills players without much effort from the shaman) 2: No favoritism 3: No hugging (standing on Shaman spot all the time) Thanks for having a look All of these are necessary for both players and shamans, whether if you are playing in Survivor or in any other rooms. [1:1] Wall jumping [1:2] Simple understanding of Transformice physics Whether you are the shaman or a survivor, understanding how the gravity affects your character or shaman objects are important to determine where they would land. Without trying or exposure, you probably might have trouble playing Survivor, or the game in general. [1:3] Ground types Grounds have different properties, some which are important to note: -Water
-No mice Collision grounds^ [2:1] When to jump In /debug mode , your mouse is actually just a sphere and any angle which the sphere is in contact with will make a difference. There are different effects on when you jump or when you should not: a) Avoidance The very basic is to keep a distance from cannons, if one is approaching you, simply jump to avoid it. b) Cannon Jump This happens when you make contact with the cannon at an angle. It boost you upwards to get to higher ground or to avoid fast spawning cannons in mid-air c) Head surf TL;DR, dont jump when there is a head surf, be like *ken. Head surf is the result when instead of the cannon hitting the mice from the side, it rolls above the players head instead. Mice jumping when theres a head surf would not be able to survive as when they jump, the cannon contacts with the side, not allowing them to recover. Here is a well known map for headsurfing due to ground angle MISCONCEPTION: Ducking does not make your hitbox smaller, It would be the same standing up. [2:2]Awareness and Focus of Cannon and Player This is very important as our vision focus is actually relatively small. Referring to [3:4],"Shooting from afar", you can see that it is easy to kill you if the cannon happens to spawn at our blind spot. This requires high understanding of the "Basics" and knowing your character location. [2:3] Stay on high grounds Without the Anti-gravity skill, cannons would never be able to move upwards by itself. With this limitation, shamans have to be on the same ground as you or higher to be able to kill you and that requires more time and effort. [2:4] Stay in the middle on a long ground If there is no upper ground to be on, the next thing to do is to stay in the middle of a long ground. Not saying being at the side is wrong, in fact you can avoid cannons passing by while you wall jump. However it increases the risk of not being able to survive a head surf and and the shaman might spirit or meep you. By staying in the middle you can recover from any attacks with a longer time. [2:5] Try not to talk as you play/ multitasking If you do take Survivor seriously, then try not to talk much. The chances of getting typekill (got killed by the shaman as you are chatting) are high. ADVANCE [2:A] Move randomly One advantage is that just by moving around, it makes it unpredictable to the shaman on your movements, making it harder to aim at you if the shaman is on a higher ground. However, if you are not aware of the cannon and your character, you can get off sync and it can kill you. [2:B] Sabotaging with Head surf Surprisingly enough you can create a head surf with just one player. If players are not aware of your actions, they would assume it would not be a head surf and jump, killing them off if they are behind you. [3:1] Fast spawning (Click and Drag) New players starts out slow, that includes spawning speed. Though there are hotkeys, there is still a way to spawn fast manually. Click and drag is while you are spawning and object, you hold down to the key and drag your cursor to the next cannon, so that once your cannon is spawned you can quickly get another cannon [3:2] Shoot above ground This is important because of [2:1], cannon jumping for survivors has given some benefits to go on higher ground or it is relatively easy to dodge your cannons, which is something you would not want. [3:3] Accuracy As much as speed is important, accuracy goes hand in hand with it. Without practice, tricks and mimics would be hard to do. [3:4] Small tricks -Crowd Head surf One of the easiest ways to kill a ton of mice is by creating a head surf. Head surf is the result when instead of the cannon hitting the mice from the side, it rolls above the players head instead. Mice jumping when theres a head surf would not be able to survive as when they jump, the cannon contacts with the side, not allowing them to recover. *Assuming the circles are mice - Shooting from afar This is considered a trick as you do not do it all the time, but try to, though. Our eye focus is only so limited, if you were to spawn a cannon close to the player, their focus and estimation of it landing would be accurate, on a long distance however, it gets harder. -Double Cannons ^ - Surprise spawns The motive of surprise spawns is to make a certain number of people letting their guards down as you are not attacking them for a long period of time. Normally if you ignore an area for about 15 to 30 seconds, players would not be so alert, if you happen to suddenly spawn a cannon there, they would not have time to be ready for it. - Fake spawns I would prefer that you do not do it too much as players would understand your motives quick enough. In fact, treat this as a ‘mistake’, accidentally do these spawns and you will be surprised yourself. [3:5] Spirit Jump Spirit Jump is one of the ways to avoid huggers. This requires some practice but rewarding at the end. ADVANCE [3:A] Cannon Jump REQUIRED: Mastering Spirit Jump Want to get serious? Then Cannon Jumping is the 1st step towards it. It takes a long time to master it, but this can help you so much in Survivor. Where do I start? 1)Wall Cannon Jump For starters, this would be the 1st practice you would like to try. This would be an easy and fast transportation for you to reach places. 2)Air Cannon Jump If you got comfortable with Wall cannon jump, you can try out Air Cannon Jump. Do not worry if you cannot get it immediately. This is a skill which is not easy to achieve and until today, I still have difficulties on it. [3:B] Air balloon REQUIRED: Mastering Spirit Jump/ Air Cannon Jump [3:C] Understanding maps One fun things about maps that have grounds overlaying another is that they create unique aiming and bounce angles that no player would expect. Go to an empty survivor room and just try out anything, spawn cannons at any corner, make more trick shots, e.g: [3:D] Generated Headsurf Unlike normal head surf, where you rely on the massive number of mice heads, you can you one player (even yourself) to generate a head surf without having so many players. How? in /debug mode, you are seen as a sphere, with the right cannon angle you can make a head surf [3:E]Spirit Saving ^ (I cannot master this myself so if theres any players that can do this, do contribute your tips to others if you would like to) Contributed tips by you guys! winterflurry a dit : In all honesty I have not used Hard Mode in Survivor so I can't answer that. They can use their totem if they want but the limitation is that they don't have spirit Dernière modification le 1445218200000 |

This thread gave me goosebumps. I loved old survivor, not having skills, no hotkeys and everything completely your own skill based was the best. I will later try to contribute to this thread with a advanced skill from old fight rooms. This skill was used by some high level pro's in the past, but to this day is completely forgotten. To write it shortly, it's like a from the ground cannon jump up, but with a really small risk of lifting other mice who are hugging you up with you. It's a way to get mice off you without using Meep as well as a possobility to get to the highter ground. I'll write more detailed reply a bit later. :) Dernière modification le 1445235060000 |

Sonicherois a dit : Is it about the one which the cannon is facing down? I used to do it a lot but One of the updates fixed it and we can no longer do it anymore. :edit: Its still possible! However the accuracy of getting it done right is really difficult to get. A pixel difference change the outcome drastically. You will be making more mistakes than doing it right. Explaination v In fact what this trick does is that it enhance your bounce after you jump. Your mouse have a very tiny amount of elasticity, thats why when you jump down from high places, your bounce is pretty noticeable Back to the point. Cannon has force, because it has acceleration and mass (f = ma). Your aim is to make the cannon spawn as close to the ground and very close to the middle portion of your mouse. Not directly in the middle or the cannon will spawn above you. Close to the ground because if its too far you would be going sideways (even though longer distance = more work done) the time interval when you jump and spawn is also crucial. The end result is that you mouse must be at the highest "bounce point" and your cannon has to be very close to the ground and the middle of the character. the smallest change in timing or placement changes it a lot. My 30 mins of practicing it, I only have 1 truly great one, about 6 decent ones and the rest were failures. So... Not worth it, imo. Joeballbags a dit : Sorry to say this but I am looking for tips that does not include skills or totems. (if you read) I might add the anvil tip though... Dernière modification le 1445249940000 |

techtriostep a dit : Yes it is. It is still possible to do, but as you said, it's quite hard to get. Though, I usually get to do it, though a lot of fails as well |

I used to use this in the prime time of Fight rooms. It also can be used for Survivor in many occasions. It's something hard to get, needs accuracy, but if mastered to do fast, it's a really good skill Dernière modification le 1445251140000 |

In the survivors tab you forgot to add cannon jumping or riding (the one that you achieve if you hit the cannon by a side) and also you forgot to add that cannon jump is not only for shamans common mice can also do that too if their timing is right You can also kill most huggers with a plank and a down cannon by using it as a catapult, its pretty easy you just let a side of the plank outside of the ground and shoot at that part with a down cannon to make it more deadly use a c or v too you need to be quick and get off of that plank or you will be launched too though You forgot the anvil and plank trick too it kills many mice unless they lag through it you can do that trick by spawning an anvil attaching a C small plank and rotating it a bit so that the mice cant walljump it after that you attach a small box and done the box will move towards the mice pushing them to their death. the only way to survive this is by lagging through the small plank but it requires luck since it doesnt always works A tip for surviving totems try to get as close to the shaman as possible most survivor totems are a bunch of cannons that spawn to the sides of the shaman so getting close to him will put you out of the reach of the cannons, if the shaman is too far away just wall jump and use the ground or platform as coverage I will put later more tips i have played survivor for years so i know tons of these things |

I don't understand how to spawn fast Click and drag is while you are spawning and object, you hold down to the key and drag your cursor to the next cannon, so that once your cannon is spawned you can quickly get another cannon Can you explain me with more details I don't understand |

fluffybake a dit : Its pretty much what you just said actually haha. When you spawn an object you are holding down your Left Click to do so. Its the same prinicple just that instead of leaving the cursor at where you are spawning, you will just be dragging your mouse to the next cannon while you still hold down Left Click. At first it requires practice to be able to drag your cursor to the right place quickly, you will start out slow. But once it becomes a habit it can potentially be trained to spawn quite fast! |

stand in the middle of the map and stay at the smallest group and stay at high voltage |

Pegasusya7 a dit : >stay at high voltage i may be no expert on survivor, but care to elaborate this one? i cant really get through how this strategy is supposed to work |

tip: When your in shamans range, just keep on moving around. They will not be able to target you properly. Works best when your near sham |
