First of all: this is my first time openening a thread on these forums, so if i did something wrong, please forgive me. Im probably not the first one to notice this, but the new renaming feature caused quite a bit of confusion, as i now often happen to see nicknames in my friendlist that i have never seen before. i do have an idea how atelier801 could reduce that amount confusion, but dont know where to put this suggestion or whether there even is any need for change there, so i decided to just open a discussion thread for it. This way people can also comment on how they find the idea, and give the devs a generic overview of how much that issue even affects players, for all i know i could be the only one annoyed by it ^^' Now, my idea on how the amount of confusion could be reduced: the devs could add another section to the profile of players, in which a history of the usernames of the account is listed, with a date of when the nickname was started to be put to use. This way people can see with which nicks an account has been used in the past, and thus can identify past friends who decided to change their nicks, even if they didnt meet each other for some time. EDIT: maybe i should have looked through the categories beforehand, i suppose this belongs into the suggestions forum, and nowhere else e.e Dernière modification le 1469392320000 |

I think a thread already exists for this, maybe in the suggestions section of the forums. And your idea of having a history of nicknames doesn't seem likely to be implemented because it goes against the whole purpose of people renaming themselves. A lot of people don't want others to know their old username and they don't want to be reminded of it again because it was embarrassing for them or they got teased for it. |

If you see unfamiliar names in your friendlist, it's probably a friend who changed their username. You could always PM the person asking their old username to avoid any confusion. But if the old username should be shown somewhere, I think it should be friends only or something, because some people don't want their old usernames to be known to the public. If one's old username would to be publicly shown somewhere, what's the point of changing your username, especially if you want your old username to be private (except for maybe certain people)?
