For many months, TFM has been running these fantastic map contests which are alot of fun to join and have kept many mice busy making maps for a long time.

The basic idea is to make a map for a specific category and 3 winners will be chosen at the end.


These are the rewards.

You get a categorised perm and Cheeeese *-*
Now as you know, you can get perms by using the map submission on the "Map editor" subforum.
Its not the easiest thing, but it is possible.

However, free cheese is not possible to get, so the main thing in this contest that you win is the cheese, because it seems easier to get than permanent maps.

Recently my friend won the most recent map contest category with 1st place, and he was told to get his reward when Sydoline was online, but she had her whispers disabled. Which is fine because Im sure she has many other things to do.

So he tried to contact a member of the mapcrew, and then had this following conversation.


Some people havent had their rewards for months..months.
I mean sure, 1 month tops is okay, but seriously more than a few?
As far as I know, it doesnt take long to put cheese into an account.. its been done for tribe contests Ive entered in the past.
Why is this taking so long? Do winrars even get the cheese? IS IT ALL A LIE?!?!?!
I dont know if this is worth any discussion but it needed to be said.

True, its not the actual prize that makes you eager for it, just the feeling of winning something, and then not getting it must suck. ; ;

I'm sure Sydo is just busy. I asked her a couple of times long after my prize was due and I eventually got it.

Thanks for showing this to me Elvismousee, now I know not to waste my time in contests run by staff.

How were you able to get pass through her disabled whispers?

It was a few months ago but she didn't have her whispers disabled when I asked her.

I don't go on irc much but if she's ever on there you can request your cheese. That's a way of getting to her.

It'd be nice if they used /code for these types of things. The Map Crew could be handed a few cheese codes each month for their contests and they can be given out, what the user does with them is their prerogative, but it surely takes plenty of the work off of Sydoline. ^^

Meaning, you were referring to me leaving the "feeling of winning something" problem to someone else. And Im showing you what a winner felt, and he felt the same.

If you were reffering to the actual problem on hand with the cheese rewards, no its not my problem, my my friend wanted me to make the thread, so I did.

I won February's Map Contest, and I just received the forum title and the perm map, I don't received the shop cheese. And I contact Sydoline, but she never answered me, I contacted Detlefdiehos too, but he couldn't do nothing :/.

Maybe all rewards should be given out before any new contests start, to get all the prizes sorted. Otherwise this could go on for ages then sydo will have a huge list of winners to go through. D:

Map crew is already aware of this and list of people who have outstanding cheese due has been posted where sydo should see it....hopefully.
