If you're looking on the forums for a basic shaman tutorial, you've come to the right place. Here's a shaman tutorial on the basic things.
Shaman Objects
Here are the Shaman Objects, things that you can summon to help the mice get the cheese and take it back to the hole ( No Skills )
https://i.imgur.com/rft7X.png
Ball
These are circular objects with 0 friction, up to 0.9 restitution and about 8 mass. Balls are if you want the mice to have more fun while solving the map.
https://i.imgur.com/xYplB.png
Trampoline
Only availible for building in some vanilla maps, trampolines are powerful bouncing items. Trampolines have about 1.5 restitution and 0 friction on top but a small amount in the green base.
https://i.imgur.com/BFAkj.png
Balloons
These colorful objects can lift up items, and mice if cast by the Shaman. Balloons can lift about 600 pounds each (2 balloons can lift 1 anvil). Balloons will pop if there are enough mice on them (ranging from 3-10 mice depending on how much pressure is put on it).
https://i.imgur.com/rU4po.png
Rune
Items that pushes with the force of 120 mass.
When connected to a dynamic ground or item with a yellow anchor, the rune will push the item in the direction it is connected to and the connected item will be able to move. If connected with a green anchor, the rune will have freedom to spin and the connected item will be able to move. If connected with a red anchor the rune will not be able to move anywhere but will be able to rotate itself.

Boxes
Wooden boxes of two different sizes with some friction to them.
Measurements: 28x28px / 60x60px - Weight: 30 / 160

https://i.imgur.com/9oqSz.png
Anvils
Anvils are the heaviest shaman items available. They have very little friction and about 1000 mass.
https://i.imgur.com/HGD8Z.png
Planks
Small planks can come in hand in map building, they certainly do for shamans. They are 100px wide and 10px tall and contain about 0.3 friction.
Longer planks are about 200px wide and just as small ones, 10px tall.
When ghosted, either of these items can be very helpful in map building.

https://i.imgur.com/sNf4U.png
Anchors
Anchors are mostly used for dynamic items or grounds to interact with each other. There are three types of normal anchors: red ones, yellow ones and green ones.
Red anchors will hold dynamic grounds and items in their place and will allow for the item to rotate around the dot while staying in the same location.
Green anchors will connect two dynamic items to each other and will give them the freedom to move around.
Yellow anchors will connect two dynamic items to each other but will not give them the ability to rotate or be as loose as green ones.

https://imgur.com/nCxIXLf.png
Rotating Anchors
They are available both rotating clockwise and counter-clockwise. They will connect shaman items together and rotate them in the selected direction.
https://i.imgur.com/6r4Qs.png
Portals
Orange and blue portals are available for the shaman to teleport to unbuildable areas on only some maps.
Map Categories with a Shaman
Maps are seperated in to categories, and these categories have shamans (There's no vanilla here even though most vanilla maps have a shaman)

Shaman Builds
I'm not posting any builds made by me. So it's up to you to make the builds! Any builds by comment or PM http://atelier801.com/img/icones/16/messagerie1.png will appear here.

Shaman Object Shortcuts
Did you know that by pressing a number, that's a shortcut for a shaman object? Here's the key.
1 = Arrow
2 = Spirit
3 = Balloon
4 = Rune
5 = Small Box
6 = Large Box
7 = Anvil
8 = Small Plank
9 = Large Plank

How to Summon a Shaman Object
How to summon a shaman object? It's easy. Make sure you're the Shaman. Click on the shaman object you wish to summon. Then, hold it where you wish to summon it. Then hold the right side of your mouse and hold it for 1 second. There's your shaman object!
How to Use Emotes as Shaman
As mouse, you simply press a number to do an emote. As Shaman, it's different because using a number alone is the shortcut for a shaman object. So to do emotes as Shaman, press SHIFT and that number.
How to Rotate Objects
How to rotate shaman objects? It's easy. Press Z or X. Z rotates clockwise while X rotates counterclockwise. Also, you can use the mouse scroll to rotate objects. Did you know that you can rotate objects just a tiny fraction? To do it, you need to do CTRL + Mouse scroll.
Ghosted Objects
Here's a tutorial on ghosted objects. Select the object, then press SPACE, then do the last step in summoning an object, to summon one. SPACE is the key on your keyboard which doesn't have anything written on it. Yes, I needed the SPACE key to make this sentence! Anyways, ghosted objects collide with dynamic grounds made with the map and other shaman objects, but they DON'T collide with mice.
A Deeper Tutorial Into Stabilized Nails
You can summon stabilized nails by pressing B, C, or V. B summons a red nail, C summons a yellow nail, while V summons a blue nail.
Red nails keep a build stable wherever you want, and can rotate around the center. Press B over and over to toggle the nail's appearance and things it does. These are only availible on Normal Mode on planks.
Yellow nails connect two objects together and are stable, but they rotate a little making them not-so-stable. They are availible on anything, but can't be used on Divine Mode.
Blue nails are the only nails availible on all 3 modes. They connect 2 nails together and rotate them around the point.
A Deeper Tutorial Into Motorized Nails
You can make motorized nails my pressing J or N. N rotates the objects clockwise while J rotates counterclockwise.

This is nice Bhvana <3

You should add the shortkeys for arrow, balloon, box, plank, anvil in all 3 modes, cuz thats helpful for many shamans.

Also clever ways to place skill points. I suggest all players who wanna level up faster to get ambulance (revive). With 15 sham points you can have 5 revival if you're smart.

I'm pretty sure there's already a topic similar to that

Anyway, i have some builds for divine mode:

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/248094402109505546/642130535434551296/unknown.png

Also my skill tree in case you think this can be usefull:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/565267801221234689/709078572576538764/unknown.png

And last, the shaman shortcuts change with the shaman mode, its not the same for normal mode and divine mode, so you should change that

Okay, one more thing, please fix that

I'm not quite sure if you are aware but the Transformice website already provides a tutorial for beginners on how to shaman or how to use the objects. However, it's not updated, and I do see many players struggling during their shaman turn and feeling stressed. This thread is helpful since it already has some information about the objects and what it's used for and categories for the maps.

I'd love seeing more information added like skills. The tutorial the admins have created a few years ago on the website doesn't have anything on how to use the skills or what they should be used for. I've seen a few players confused on how to use the teleport skill. A shaman one teleports you anywhere on the map location. But the players that are a shaman seem to think it will teleport a mice beside them. Every so often, it's the opposite and they use the teleport skill that transports mice besides them and they think it will take them to another location on the map. Anyways, maybe a recommended build for beginners while they're levelling up. I think some players are clueless about the skill build and not sure how to spend their points wisely.

Overall, maybe add some more builds for every mode. It will be helpful for many players, and it will teach them. ^^

I dont know if it will help newcommers that much with divine builds. New players need help to fast and easy build.

They are in normal mode. For fast summoning stuff, its helpful for them to know about the shortkeys.
In most maps its:

1 for arrow
2 for spirit
3 for balloon
4 for anchor
5 for small box
6 for big box
7 for anvil
8 for small plank
9 for big plank

They also need to know to use wasd with left hand so they can use mouse when sham with right hand (or if lefthanded, the other way maybe).

And lots, lots of other nooby useful tip.

Bhvana man, please put the original post in normal-sized font, for the love of cheese...

And yes, there is a way to rotate objects a tiny fraction. I was wrong it's ctrl+mouse wheel scroll. Try it.

Thanks for this!
Indeed, we can rotate objects using mouse wheel, Z and X (W and X for AZERTY keyboards), but as Barberserk said, you can rotate them a little bit, but it's only by pressing CTRL (not shift) and using the mouse wheel
Also, new players would probably come here to learn how to play as a shaman, so I recommend you to write the keys that we have to use to nail the objects (B for red nail, C for yellow, V for blue, N for blue motorized nail, rotating clockwise and J for blue motor motorized rotating counterclockwise)

Sorry, it's ctrl, yes. It has become second nature for me so I could not really remember the key combination, but my fingers remember, don't worry. :D
