$15 to choose any name you desire is a fair price to me. I guess at that price we should also have the ability to change tags but I feel like 10-15 is reasonable given it’s considered a luxury feature.

Nobody needs to change their username, just because one is dissatisfied with their username does not mean there is a necessity to change it. The only case in which you need to change your username is when it is inappropriate, and the admins will do that for you.

The admins obviously won't lower the price in their current situation, and if I remember correctly it was confirmed that there won't be any plans to lower the price back when the name change feature was first introduced.

That said, I agree that it may be a little expensive to pay that much for just a name change, but then again you never need to change it, you may really want to but that's not the same thing. I pretty much agree with post #10 regarding it being considered a luxurious feature, which means the way it is now is not too unreasonable.

Players choose their nickname when registering at their own volition. As such, it is their own responsibility to choose a nickname they will not regret later.

Did you read the post you quoted? As stated, “it is their own responsibility to choose a nickname they will not regret later.” If that is the case, then upon registration carefully choose a name you WON’T regret later down the road. Atelier801 will mostly likely not be adjusting the price, as it’s been a feature for four years now and if they were ever considering it at any point a change would have been made.

I mean you can always make a new account if you want and if not you just have to deal with the name you don't like or get a job, solution solved.
