Perm bans should be removed. Steam fraud bans were lifted, but not the normal bans.

I hold a different opinion regarding this matter.

To get permanently banned, you have to do something heinous - for example: repeated hacking, harassment, paedophilia; or you have to be a spambot. Such an action could boost the player amount by the number, however letting such contingent amongst us would not be beneficial to the community. If you have clearly showcased you're not on this game to play the game, but to harm others or the game, then you do not deserve to be here.

I think they could probably lift permabans from maybe 2015 or lower, 2016 max, maybe that could possibly bring back some old players, however Syrius does have a point, they did mess up quite a bit, therefore you don't belong

Atelier801 is a private company aka an independent game studio, not a public movement so if you want the repeal of every permanent ban, you would have to go through the people who would constantly harass you, someone who would not learn their lesson by purposefully hacking, etc; This would put a bad reputation on the moderators and the company on the risk of handling other people and that those who are permanently banned needs to know that they are not following the rules properly and to understand the wrongdoings.

So like Syrius said if you are someone who gets permanently banned for a heinous reason, you don't deserve to be here.

u gotta have done something very bad to be permanently banned like harassing or hacking too much times so they must not be removed. the players who are permabanned must not come back, no matter if it happened 10 years ago

It's like you're saying, if you've done something terrible irl and the judge rules out a life in prison but 5-6 years later you're getting your freedom back.

There are reasons why one gets a permanent ban. Could say the same for people who keep breaking the ToS. Mute after mute, ban after ban which in the end they give the person a permanent. There are also those times where those type of bans are undeserving, and for that reason the contact form exists.

My opinion on this though, is that bans shouldn't be lifted, not until people speak on behalf of their actions from years back, say that what they've done was wrong etc. After that, it all depends on the staff and especially A801 as a whole if they will give the person or multiple others who had appealed to get the sanction removed a chance.

I find a good idea to be unban after paying the strawberries. The option should be active after a certain period of time. I do not know. After a year? two years? I think it would be ok. People who have been banned for several years and would have the option to recover their account. They would pay, and definitely will avoid further violations. Well I think this is the best option and hope it will be introduced someday. I don't think there are any cons.

i brought up this topic with the entire staff team, and here's what i got as an answer!!

Usually it takes a lot of bad behavior to get permanently banned, and whatever the player is doing to break the rules is actively harming the community. Those who were targeted by the banned player would definitely not feel okay with seeing someone who harassed them welcomed back, even if it has been many years. Players are usually eager to report ban-on-sight users, no matter how long ago they were placed on that list.

From a staff perspective, many players who are permanently banned and create new accounts usually do not improve their behavior. However, if a player does behave much better, it is possible to take their case into consideration. Unbanning all permanently banned accounts would probably not be a good idea though, because we have no guarantee these players would now follow the rules.
