MACRO VS MICRO disclaimer: this will probably not help you save mice

Hi! A few people seemed to like my prior writing on building, so here's some extra thoughts.
Macro vs micro. What exactly do I mean by that? Here's what I mean:

Take the H-base. It's a golden standard for making your divine builds have somewhere to begin. From a relatively small platform, you get a Pretty Large area to build from: you can attach stuff anywhere from the lower left point to the upper right, on the sides. It's good! It won't buckle or strain and it's super easy. So far so good! This is what I'd call micro: while the area it covers is way larger than the platform it sits on, it's not macro. So... what can we do to scale it up?

An even bigger H! While I'm mostly kidding, we do get more area to attach to. But it isn't macro enough for me yet:

There we go!!! With a little bit of extra setup, we've spanned the entire map with a base we can then attach to from anywhere! This particular base I've dubbed "the blanket base" as it lies on top of the entire map like a blanket.

I'll acknowledge that it isn't the most practical way of doing things but it's part of how I personally enjoy building: taking something simple and making it more complex. A few more examples:

Here, we've used a few runes to anchor planks to the underside of the map and wrapped planks around to the top which then holds the platform below. It's like we've tied a rope around the whole thing that we can then suspend things on!

In this one, a "table" base (we really need more standardized building terminology) is raised and spans left to right again. One big construct with 3 things hanging off of it: left side support going to hole, middle to go from cheese to hole and finally, the right one that allows mice to get up.

So what do you all think? Good?? Maybe try it? If you do (or already have built macro bases), share a screenshot :D

the nerve to pull some of the builds like these makes me surprised how it either fits in reasonable time or before it gets ruined by consumable throwers sure is something alright

Most of these were built without a time limit and weren't intended to save mice! It's just purely for the joy of building alone
Though I bet you could pull some of this off in room
