what it says in the title. i'm not zoomed in so i'm not sure what causes this. i used to play on windows 10, same device, and had no such issue. is there a way to fix this? |

i know almost nothing about linux, but i do know quite a bit about flash. but maybe it's a vector error? maybe its trying to convert it into a bitmap. i had a similar issue 10 years ago when playing the game. |

Transformice converts the frames of the mice's standing, running, ducking, and summoning animations, but not emotes like dancing etc., from vector graphics (line drawings) into bitmaps (pixel images) to improve the graphics rendering speed, as bitmaps tend to render faster than vectors. Bitmaps look pixelated when zoomed in. With the Flashplayer, bitmap and vector images degrade in different ways when the graphics quality is lowered, as shown in the picture below. Do your pixelated mice look anything like these? TFM mouse graphics at different quality settings ![]() The screenshots were taken while running the game on a standalone Flashplayer on Linux, which allows me to change the quality through the main menu or by right-clicking. (The quality of already-loaded mouse sprites doesn't seem to change, only the ones that are newly loaded afterwards, for example, when a new player joins or you change your mouse's clothes.) As far as I know, the Steam game version for Windows uses Adobe Air, which offers no quality settings and always uses high quality. (According to the TFM Wiki, there appears to be an Electron-based client as well. I have no idea how that one works, or whether it offers any quality options.) Not sure what Flashplayer variant or replacement the Linux Steam client uses, as Air is not available for Linux. You could check whether it has any quality settings (right-click maybe?). Another option would be to play the game on a standalone Flashplayer, and see if that fixes your problem. I have described how to do this a while ago: https://atelier801.com/topic?f=6&t=854970&p=5#m90 In addition to the quality settings, the standalone Flashplayer also has an option to enable or disable graphics hardware acceleration (click "Settings" in the right-click menu); you could try whether turning it on or off makes a difference in terms of rendering speed or quality. (You have to close and re-open the Flashplayer for that one to come into effect.) Dernière modification le 1742837220000 |
