Hello everyone! The main reason this thread is here, is because a lot of users are not aware of basic forum skills,abilities,etc.

Credit to the following users: Delatex, Anomunus, Supereemory, Katburger

They have supplied me with information and pictures to help beef up the tutorial.

I hope for this to be stickied, because it will help new users learn about the forums. It will also help reduce spam and lead users in the right direction.

There are currently 3 ways to open the forums

• 1. In-game

Once you are logged in on TFM, you can reach the forums by the menu.

• 2. From the TFM website

You can type this in on the adress bar and it will take you directly to the forums:

This will be located on the top of the forum page, login with your TFM username.

These are the basics of the forums, things to know such as how to post, navigate the forums, etc.

When you reach the forum page, you will be directed here:

You will see a list of sections to go to.

Each section of the forums are called Sub-forums. Each sub-forum has a certain category. For example, if you went to "Forum Game" you would find forums games. Easy right?

If you want to post in a thread, you have to click on the thread and scroll to the bottom of the page. There will be a -Reply to thread- button. You have to click it, write in the text box, and click enter!

There is a post limit, you can only create a post every 30 seconds.

If you want to edit a post you made, you have to click the edit button.

Remember that you can only edit posts that YOU made!

This can be helpful for fixing errors, adding addtional details, and preventing from double posting.

If you want to create a thread, you have to first go into a sub-forum (Excluding Announcements)

The button to create a thread is on the bottom-left page

First, make sure your thread is related to the sub-forum you are posting in, and then create your title on the top and your original post in the text box

After you are done, you press "Send your new thread" at the bottom of the page!

There is a post limit, you can only send a thread every 5 minutes.

Quoting someones post can be used for different things. It can be used to directly reply to the person you quoted, it can also be used for referencing something.

• To quote someone's post:

Click their avatar (located below username in the post), then select Quote. This also will start a new reply to the thread.

Note that quoted text will appear as such:

Also note that you MUST follow a quoted statement with text (the forum will tell you to do that if you don't, but keep it in memory anyways).

The quote tags are an example of BBCode tags, which is sort of a standard for markup language for forums. BBCode is used for other things in the TFM forum, such as inserting images.

In order to quote someone manually, you must do this:

(Remove the @'s)

Here you can:

• post TFM related fanart in your own thread ( Must be created from you )

• post unrelated fanart in the 2nd top thread

• compliment others art, ask for requests to have your mouse drawn

The next sub-forum is a private sub-forum, you can only have this if you are in a tribe. It will be located at the very bottom of the sub-forum list. The title of the sub-forum would be the name of your tribe.

NOTE: Only members of your own tribe can access and post in this forum.

You are free to discuss anything in this forum (though I would not recommend participating in any illegal activity inside these forums, because the Transformice administrators are able to see what is in your private forum.

Pictured above is the main menu of the forum. This is used to open sub-forums, and the individual threads within the sub-forum will be listed out for you to select (example shown below).




Use the language bar (pictured above, located above the "Annoucements" sub-forum) to change between the different languages of the sub-forums (7 of the sub-forums shown have their own categorized by language).



This is the Announcements sub-forum. The administrators of the game post about major updates to the game, or big changes to the Administration or staff team of Transformice here. You can also read the Terms and Conditions of Use, Privacy Policy, and the Game Rules in the three stickied threads at the top.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For the following sub-forums, please read the guidelines for each individual sub-forum before posting, because if you don't, there is a chance that you unknowingly will break a rule/guideline.



The Discussions forum. Use to:

- create or reply to discussion threads related to TFM

- ask simple TFM-related questions in the Q&A thread (the first thread listed in the sub-forum, reached here: Topic-1535)

- Learn about important information regarding the rules/guidelines of TFM, and the staff, etc. See the stickied posts at the top of this sub-forum for more details.

NOTE: Please do not post about being unable to connect to the game. These posts should be made in the Bugs sub-forum (more information below).



The Off-Topic forum. Use to:

- create or reply to threads that are not related to TFM

- introduce yourself to the forum community

- simply chat with others



The Forum game sub-forum. This is a forum for creating or replying to game threads, one of which could be "The above user is banned for..."



This is the Map Editor sub-forum. Here you may:

- create or post in threads related to maps or map-making

- create a thread to show off your maps. NOTE: You must have 5 or more maps in your thread to show off, otherwise your post will be locked by a mod/sent. Here is an example of such a thread: Topic-92535

- ask map editor-related questions in the map editor Q&A thread (2nd thread listed under this sub-forum, reached here: Topic-1908)

- report bad P0 maps in the "Report a bad map" thread (Topic-6517). Please do not list a permed map, if you feel a permanent map is not worthy of its current status, contact a Map Crew member or a moderator instead.

- submit a map for permanent status in one of the submission threads (example: Topic-48019). Make sure you post your map in the CORRECT THREAD, and to follow the submission guidelines outlined in the first post of each of the threads. WARNING: DO NOT CREATE A NEW THREAD FOR PERMANENT MAP SUBMISSION, YOUR POST WILL BE LOCKED AND YOUR MAP WILL BE OVERLOOKED.

- learn about Map Crew, who is on it, using this thread: Topic-36452

- participate in monthly mapmaking contests. The thread for this is usually the last one stickied (below the Information and Guidelines thread).



This is the Tribes sub-forum. Here you may:

- create or reply to threads regarding a tribe. The usual thread topic here is to show off the tribe, and also find people to recruit. Please read the sub-forum guidelines before creating a tribe thread (the 3rd post from the top, reached here: Topic-29881)

This thread is very helpful for those who need assistance on how to make a thread for their tribe. Topic-33319


- find a tribe to join by looking through threads and reading about the different tribes that have made a thread here

- post in the "Looking for a tribe" thread as another way to find a tribe to join. Topic-2226

- get help on how to create and administer your own tribe by following the "Transformice Tribe Guide" (the fourth post from the top, reached here: Topic-26287)



This is the Suggestions sub-forum. Here you may make suggestions of new ideas for Transformice.

There are specific threads for suggesting the following:

- new shop items (Topic-4009)

- new titles (Topic-41045)

- small suggestions (Topic-8738)

You may also create a new thread about a suggestion that doesn't fit these categories.

Important Note: If you wish to create a new thread about a suggestion that you would like to make, please check the Suggestion List thread (fourth from the top, reached here: Topic-30357) and make sure your suggestion was not already suggested.



This is the Bugs sub-forum. Here you may:

- report a bug with the game. Note: Please read the Bugs List/FAQ thread (2nd from the top, reached here: Topic-62400) before creating a new thread about a bug, it has a list of known bugs/glitches and also can answer some of your questions.

- seek help with connection errors (Topic-58557)

- report problems with fraises payment and get help (Topic-51440)

- report translation errors (in-game or on forum. Reached here: Topic-8650)



This is the Fanarts sub-forum. Here you may:

- post fanarts (as long as you abide by the rules/guidelines set out for this sub-forum. It is the third thread in the list, reached here: Topic-29867)

- post original, non-TFM artwork in the "Non-TFM artwork" thread: Topic-8941

The next sub-forum is a private sub-forum. Here is an example, using my tribe's sub-forum:



The name of your tribe is the name of the private sub-forum. Only members of your own tribe can access and post in this forum. You are free to discuss anything in this forum (though I would not recommend participating in any illegal activity inside these forums, because the Transformice administrators are able to see what is in your private forum. Remember, BIG BROTHER IS ALWAYS WATCHING YOU.)

The << arrow leads you to the very first page.
While the >> button leads you to the very last page.
The < button leads you into the previous page.
The > Button leads you to the next page.
! If you're on the very last page. You will not see the >> and > button and if you're on the very first page you will not see the << and the < button.



This is the language bar. This is used to go on other language forums. Clicking a flag will make you go to the X language forums. X = Variable for language.

Supere is barely active, and I gave her beefy amount of informtation, way more than she had alone. So I decided I should create my own, but still give credit to supereemory since she made the idea :)

I don't think that's really fair to Supereemory considering she did bring up the topic first and hasn't had any real chance to prove herself to be "active" in updating the thread. You should work on keeping that thread updated rather than make a whole new one for whatever reason.

Well since the thread was already made, I will see how long it takes her to bring in all the information.

If she proves herself to be "active", I will request a lock.

Though, I don't see why she would be mad. We are friends, and she would understand. I gave her credit as well :)

At the top right, your username is shown, along with a small box. Click the box to upload an avatar.


NOTE: there IS a limitation to the size of the avatar you may upload, 20kb maximum, and the dimensions should be no greater than 128px by 128px.
