Greeting survivors!!

Some of you might have already noticed it: it becomes more and more difficult to find a username available when creating a new account. It's even more difficult since Transformice and Dead Maze use the same community platform: if someone is named JohnDoe on Transformice, you won't be able to name yourself JohnDoe on Dead Maze. Knowing that we have about 89,437,489 accounts (roughly), you can easily understand that this is a real problem when you want to create a new account on both Transformice and Dead Maze.

We've been thinking for a while now about the best solution to solve this issue and after studying all the possibilities, we decided to implement a new # system for nicknames very soon.

A # system?

For those who are familiar with Discord, this will be very similar.
When you create a new account, you will have a unique # which will be assigned to you and you will be able to choose the nickname you want (that follows the TOU, of course).
Ie.: if you want to call yourself JohnDoe, your nickname will be JohnDoe # 1234.

You will not be able to choose the # but do not worry, it will be visible only when you need it and will not be displayed constantly in game/forum.

Where can I see my #?

Your # will be visible in your profile, on the forum and in game as well as in your private messages in game / forum.
Here are the different places where you will see your #:

In game:

On your profile



In your friends list



In whispers

On the forum:

In the menu by clicking on the username

How do I log in with this new system?

To login in game / forum, you can:
- enter your nickname with its # (ex: JohnDoe # 1234)
- enter your email

/! \ Please note that for the creation of a new account, a unique email for each account will now be requested! You will not be able to link an email to multiple accounts /! \

With this new system, you can choose a nickname already taken: no need to bother to search for a nickname available! Be careful though to check that your recipient is who they claim to be by checking their # !

Alright, but what about old accounts?

For our brave old survivors, your account will by default have this hashtag: #0000.
But do not panic: we offer a free name change to all survivors that have created an account BEFORE this new system!
Go to the forum in "My Account" "Change name" to be able to change it :)

Staff Members

Staff members will have an assigned # that will allow them to stand out in order to recognise them more easily.
We plan in the future to be able to make their nicknames colored in game to allow you to find them more easily, which was not possible with the old system.

We understand that this is a significant change but it is the solution that will ultimately impact you the least: concretely for our old survivors nothing will change except having a # in your profile and for newcomers, account creation will be much easier! Everyone wins :)
