Hello to you all, Apocalypse survivors!

Today we're proud to present the 6.1 Dead Maze Alpha version! It comes with a lot of new features which will achieve to make you more impatient than you are now. Our testers will "brake" this version by abusing whatever flaws they'll surely find with the new systems put in place. But that's why we recruited them! We warmly thank them (you have no idea!) for being so implicated and resourceful.

Summary
  • Playable pretutorial with cinematics that depict what happened few hours before the Apocalypse. Please post your feedbacks here.
  • New campfire system (you can click on it, rest and trade with others, benefit from group or individual bonuses).
  • Different characters gestures around the campfire.
  • New knock-out system (you can now revive yourself but it costs thirst and hunger bars).
  • Stunning zombies and players when pushed in a collider.
  • NPCs fight (will be used for narrative purposes, and no, you won't be able to "pet" them!)
  • Zombies movements are more fluid, Tig made sure to ameliorate the system.

Here is what you'll have the occasion to discover in this version:

  • A playable pretutorial few hours before the Apocalypse struck. What were you doing at that time? How did you react when you learnt? All this questions will find answers in some beautifully orchestred cinematics and texts, with Mathias, Marion (our golden-fingered artists), Eric (narrative designer, it is him whom writes the game's story and makes it coherent), myself (the staging with the freshly new map), and of course, Tig (whom, besides from his constant trolling, has been helpful to do black magic (coding all that!)). The previous tutorial objectives has been transposed in this pretutorial (looting an object, using the combo etc). Please, all feedbacks are welcome here.

  • Let's talk about the campfire. We ameliorated the system by keeping his mandatory aspect between two maps. But we can now click on it as it an asset of the game. The well-known interface is then displayed, with real time players!

    You have the choice:

    1. You can rest (it costs hunger and thirst bar but unlocks your three slots in order for you to eat or drink --> useful when you know you could benefit a certain bonus for this particular map).

    2. You can give something to someone (you're not obliagted to rest to do so).

    3. You can throw items in the fire in order to benefit or make your group benefit the bonus(es) of the stated item.

    4. Of course you will be able to talk to the others campers and invite them in your group.

    5. Or simply quit the interface because you have the right to change your mind.

  • Eating or drinking is more visually intuitive (the animation changed).

  • We also added a mini text tutorial for that interface after your feedbacks.

  • Around the campfire, you will be able to see your character and the others in different gestures, for variety and immersion.

  • Since we changed the campfire system, we also changed the survival system in general, but particularly the knock-out and second chance systems. When no one is coming to reanimate you...



    ... you can revive yourself by spending thirst and hunger bars!



    You'll always have the "second chance" symptom, but you won't depend on the others anymore. When you're revived, a projection is applied and your health bar is back to 100%. Now you can escape!
  • Talking about projection... a new feature Tig brought is: stunning zombies when hitting a collider! Careful, it also works on you! If you stumble upon a toxic zombie, you have a chance to be stunned when it dies if a collider encounters your path.

It's not open for the public now and only the alpha testers can play it! If you want to be an alpha tester check this thread : We need you to test Dead Maze in Alpha version!
