Welcome to the user created guide for Bouboum ! This guide is here to help players gain a better understanding of the game and go a bit more in depth about how certain things work. The guide will be updated from time to time as things change and new information is released. Translations ! Topic-510078 - Dutch The Basics. When a round starts there will be an arrow pointing towards your character with a yellow ring surrounding them to help locate where you are. The smaller yellow ring is invincibility and as long as this yellow ring is up, nothing can kill you. Each round lasts 2 minutes or till there's one player standing, your objective is to survive at all costs. Once the time ticks down to 1 minute the playing field will get smaller and at 1 minute and 20 seconds (40 seconds on the in-game clock) all indestructible blocks will disappear from the map making the entire playing field destructible and giving players no place to hide. each game consists of 10 rounds and the player with the most points wins. Profile breakdown. Here is where we're going to over the profile and it's stats. Ranking - This stat is your elo. The higher the number, the better. Number of games played - The number of rounds you've played. Players killed / Deaths - How many players you've killed / How many times you've died. Games won - How many games you've won. Rounds won - How many rounds you've been the last one standing. Duel matches breakdown and Ranked mode. Duel matches are 1 versus 1 matches between you and another player. You can access and join a duel through the menu. When you first enter a duel you'll be paired up with a random player around your rank. Each duel consists of 10 rounds and the player with the most points by the end of game wins. These matches do effect your rank and allow you to get a rank above 1800 while ranked matches can not. Ranked matches are back and there's really nothing different. Everything's the same from regular rooms just that these matches effect your rank and ranked stats. The hazelnut The way the currency works is simple, you pick up nut tiles from the blocks you explode and players you kill. No one else can see these tiles but you and your nut tiles can't be blown up but sadly they can have bombs placed over them but don't rush ! you can get back the hazelnut(s) you missed from the previous round. Currently you can only get 2 hassle nuts per round up to 5 if you missed any last round, you also have a chance of getting a hassle nut+ power-up to spawn hassle nuts around you. The number of nuts spawned follows the same rules as above. Paste ! If you use the paste, please leave credit to Shadowwinter, thank you~ Special thanks to Jaackster for the updated images ! Special thanks to Stormleg for fixing some existing issues with the thread ! Item Tiles. Here is where you'll find all the information for the different bomb types. Each bomb type has it's own special ability and can be useful in different situations. Bomb up. Gives the player 1 extra bomb to place down. Fire up. Increases the player's bomb explosion range by 1 tile. Random bomb. Gives the player a random bomb type. Power-up Gives the player a power-up. Bomb types and possible effects. These are all the possible bomb types and effects that can only be gotten through random tiles. Regular bomb. Returns the player's bombs back to normal. No special effects are applied. Star bomb. Each bomb has a random explosion time. Placing 3-5 bombs is a safe zone, anymore is dangerous. Dangerous bomb. A bomb that can penetrate destructible blocks and is rather dangerous late game. Ecological (Leaf) bomb. Has a small chance of creating a destructible block upon explosion. Ultra (Laser) Bomb. Has a chance of destroying non-destructible blocks. Confetti (Striped) Bomb. Has a random explosion range in all directions and explodes rather quickly when chained. Nuclear (Nuke) Bomb. Flames can only be blocked by non-penetrable blocks, but only penetrates other Nuclear bombs. When it hits another bomb type, the range of those bombs increase by 1 tile each bomb The more of these that are chained, overtime the faster they will explode. Power-ups. Special abilities you get from picking up power-up tiles. Shield. Shields you from one explosion and has a short grace period after being hit. This power up is more common in players with low score ratio rather then players that are able to win a lot of rounds. Bonus Tiles. Has a chance to give you 1 to 9 item/power up tiles. Mud. Upon use, slows everyone down and speeds you up for a short period of time. Freeze Bomb. Freezes near by bombs and keeps them from exploding till thawed, after thawed bombs will explode a second after no matter the type. Sweep. Explodes near by bombs instantly with 1 range every time. Speed UP. Increases player movement speed for a short time. Banana. Slows the player down that walks over it for a short period of time. Bomb Push. Pushes bombs 1 or 2 spaces away from you (Have to be next to the bomb for it to work). This does not reset fuse time, use wisely ! Bunker. Spawns 7 blocks around you with an open facing the direction that your character is looking in. Vampire. Slows nearest player to you and gives you a short speed boost. Kamikazi. Gives the player auto-bomb, nuclear bombs and up to 10+ bombs. Zombie. If a player use it he/she will get slowed down for the entire round in fact it is not advisable due to its characteristics especially for new players. If a player who has used zombie is defeated by a player that does not have zombie then that player will become zombie. Hazelnut+. It has the possibility of giving from 1 to 5 nuts if you missed them the previous round. Penetrable blocks. These blocks can be destroyed by any type of bomb, but skull bombs can go through multiple blocks, beware ! Non-penetrable blocks. Nothing can go through these blocks, and only Laser bombs have a chance of destroying them. When the round reaches 1 minute the blocks will start to vanish from the map. Tips and Tricks 1 Flame Defense Sometimes the best offense is a good defense. The 1 flame defense is where players don't pick up any Fire-up (range) tiles and only go for Bomb-ups. With the lack of fire these players have they can deflect other's bomb explosions with ease but at the cost of killing. This tactic no longer works after 1:00 due to an increase in range mid round. (This strategy is not recommended for new players and is sort of frowned upon). Using power ups as bait. Use power-ups as bait. A lot of people like trying to steal your power ups and using them as bait can lead to some fairly easy kills if done right. In most cases people are too busy looking at all the power ups on the screen to notice that there in your bombs range. 1:20 "Vanish" period. Never stand behind indestructible blocks when they're disappearing. 9 times out of 10 you'll get yourself killed. This is a mistake commonly made by new players but even I'm guilty of doing it sometimes. You should only stand behind an indestructible block when they're disappearing as a last resort if you can't escape. Penetration for skull bombs. If you see them be sure to hide behind 2 blocks instead of one, or behind an indestructible one. Otherwise the flames will go right through the first, hit you, and stop at the second block in it's path. Star bombs, troll timer. Never, ever run out in front of star bombs unless you really have too. There's no predicting when they'll go off so it's a huge risk and is often avoidable. Just be aware of your surroundings and be sure to look for alternate routes if you find yourself being chased down by someone with these type of bombs. Learning the default time for explosions, and the minimal/maximum explosion time for Star bombs. This is one of the most critical things you should learn if you're going to be good at Bouboum. You should learn how long it takes for the bombs to explode so you'll know if you have enough time to get out of the way or not. This is kind of a big part of the game in my opinion and surely something you're going to want to pick up on to help your avoidability and even tactics in general. The shop You can access the shop from the menu and buy characters with hazelnuts to change your appearance in-game, here is the list of the characters we currently have. There is something up with the nuclear bomb, when it's chained to other bombs those bombs explode in a larger range... Also when chained to others of the same kind it makes multiple explosions in the chain's direction. |

The first part is what it's been changed to do, the second is.. Well I have no clue if it was intended or not. I'll edit it in sometime later. |

This or either I misunderstood it Flames can only be blocked by blocks, but only penetrates other Nuclear bombs. When it hits another bomb type, the range of those bombs increase by 1 tile each bomb. I have a 1 tile range bomb and this long range nuclear hits it and my 1 tile become pretty much like the exact range of the nuclear. Q_Q |

Nuclear bombs (if they hit another chain of bombs that aren't yours) will expand the range by 1 tile each bomb that explodes. I can't really explain it any better then that. |

I say you add the tips from that one thread that's now locked to this. Those will help new players who look at this as well as what you have already. uwu |
