So, here's the thing. As Bouboum just got update and, frankly, only the rare one's completely satisfied with it, I myself am very annoyed as this just came out. I just wanted to share my rant, to make the owners hear out what, not only me, but, belive me, many other players think about this so called ''improvement. I'll start out with what was completely fine in the previous version. • Everything. Bouboum was the perfect game, with the lack of new furs. I've just read and noted all the updates, which are as follow; • Ranked games have been removed. • Speed penalty for good players has been removed. • Bomb powerups will now give you one extra bomb instead of two. • Powerups and Hazelnuts can’t be destroyed anymore. • Indestructicle blocks will no longer disappear after one minute. • Addition of new activable bonuses (~ 15 new bonuses) • After one minute, random bonuses will appear every two seconds on the map • Addition of two new skins. Since these are the so called goodies, I'll detail every single one of these points and give my opinion about it. Number one. • Ranked games have been removed. - I'm not a big fan of the Ranked Games, I never played them. I don't know if people had fun there, but, hell, we had a leaderboard and now it has no proper point. All those people spent a lot of their time pumping their rank, just to stand out from the crowd and all of it's gone, due to this unnecesary update. I'll let the community decide about this. • Speed penalty for good players has been removed. - As much as I hate them, they do improve your patience, mind and concentration. It's more fun to take on skilled players being handicapped and it levels the playing field for any other rampaging, wall-blasting pet. Speed penalties are not quite neccesary, but I'd like to see them back. • Bomb powerups will now give you one extra bomb instead of two. - Eh... What can I say. It was epic how it was. A lot of bombs, a lot to view and a lot to dodge. Two bombs instead of one was the real deal. Now you've got to rush for each powerup (which are not destroyable anymore?) just to collect a fair line of bombs for your own greed. Thus, it ain't Bouboum anymore with half the bombs not being planted on the field. • Powerups and Hazelnuts can’t be destroyed anymore. - May the hazelnuts rest in peace. But hey, that's the game, that's how it was. Why can't they be indestructible, it makes no sense? I haven't seen a nut being able to withstand a barrage. Same goes for the powerups. We all like to grab as much as we can, but it's the survival of the fittest, not the luckiest. Hell, what's the point to get something if it cannot be taken from you anyways? • Indestructicle blocks will no longer disappear after one minute. - Naa', just terrible. Imagine a new player having no knowledge about these blocks and just trying to blow one up. They should be gone, no matter what. It was extremely addictive how it was, now it's just a lame party in the middle of the map, with seventy players, eighty shields and dozens of pets standing on top of the death walls. • Addition of new activable bonuses (~ 15 new bonuses) - All I need is one word to describe them. Terrible. As much as I respect the owners of this game and their work to implement this, it seriously was not needed. You could've asked the community on what could be added (on which I belive, you did.), but these are just over the top. I don't even want to log in anymore. All the powerups are not as overpowered as the shield and the bunker, but they shouldn't be there. It's bomberman, who's losing it's ''bomb''. The experienced players are merely devastated as it's not gold anymore. It's turning into a Japanese game, with as much sh*t pumped in, as possible. • After one minute, random bonuses will appear every two seconds on the map. - Why? It's not like they're already spawning like crazy, they're stuffed in some more. It's awful to play with these. • Addition of two new skins. - The kitten and the panda are dope as hell, that's what the people want (I hope), it was good how it was, nothing needed changes, except our closet. /Quote from Sydoline (Not the exact copy.) ; We tried to make the game more enjoyable to everyone. If you have a word to say regarding the new update, feel free to post it. Here's the only thing I've got to say. If that's not enough for the most to understand, I don't know what is. Bomberman's a legend. You remade it even better, but the choice you just made was a terrible one. I know I do complain a lot, but this is by far the deepest thing I've said about a silly game, which I'm addicted to - Old is gold. Of course, I do not intend any offensive manners to the community and more over, the creators. I hope this gets hearen out and responded, as I have no wish to play this fantastic game anymore. One last thing before this rant's over - This is my full opinion, I hope people agree to respect me, and the rest posters. I would love to see your detailed opinions, as it may change my look over the game. Thank you for your time. |

i'm not against powerups on their own. shield is only good for one blast anyway, it only seems op. skull bombs should penetrate it though. i like the dropped peels, and zombie is just motherfuckin awesome. auto needs to go back to being a regular bomb powerup instead of something you choose. the same effect can be achieved by holding space, so it has no point if you can choose it. what i'm really against is the indestructible blocks NOT being blown up by lasers during endgame. fuckin ridiculous, and defeats the whole point of those bombs. that, and they need to disappear at one minute like they did before. i still don't know what mud or vampire do. all in all, it was probably just too much too soon. letting the community test it (if they so chose, rather than forcing it) would've been 10x better. it's not like tfm isn't full of #minigames with features you don't get in regular rooms. an updated help file wouldn't go amiss either. |

There's vanilla, the one I adore and then there's Powerup, via the new update. It solves both problems, doesn't it? And the line ''just too much, too soon.'' was just perfect, I couldn't agree more. |

Sandmelon a dit : Speed penalties are gone for good reason, assuming you've had a high one you've felt the pain of having a 40~60% penalty upon logging in/changing rooms. The penalties would have been fine at 20% but the way they were most were unbearable for any player and ran plenty of the experienced players away from the game. It wasn't fun being spammed out by someone less experienced just because they could hold down the spacebar, either. Sandmelon a dit : Welcome to Alpha (Transformice) Bouboum, where you don't get screwed over after 10 seconds just because someone decided it was a good idea to spam 12 bombs in your direction. This is something that desperately needed to be changed and I'm glad it's gone so maybe now I can last more then the first 20 seconds of the round without someone suicide bombing me out of the blue, also lesser bombspam which is always good. Sandmelon a dit : Agreed and disagreed. Power ups should be destroyable but not hazlenuts. Sandmelon a dit : Players needed something to hide themselves behind at the end of the round, but considering we have "power-up" tiles now I honestly have to agree it'd be better to just get rid of the blocks at the end now. I'll touch up on the power ups later because I need to go figure out what they all do for the guide anyways as well as everything else. |

And there's a thing everyone, including me, needs to learn - Losing is fun. So no matter how you lose, enjoy it. Shadowwinter a dit : The spammers are there for a reason. If they got experience, they'll kill you and run off safe and sound, like me, it's the point of the game. I spam all the time, or trap. Everyone calls me a noob, but it's not true, again - losing is fun. Shadowwinter a dit : Hazelnuts would be an easy gather if they wouldn't be destroyed, but I guess it's not a big change. And the blocks just trap off like 8 people every round and the one with the worst ping gets the win. |

Im not sure how to express my opinion,but Im negative about this update. I used to like the ranked mode(not that i play for ranks) it was just fun. Most of those updates are removing the 'challenge' of the game. Im cross minded about whether the speed penalty removal,is a good or a bad thing.Probably a good...cant tell. The 2 updates that worry me the most are : • Powerups and Hazelnuts can’t be destroyed anymore. I mean I do love collecting nuts,but I also liked using them as traps.I can still do,true,but people wont rush and risk for them,since they know they wont be gone • Indestructicle blocks will no longer disappear after one minute. Thats a bad idea.I liked how the place all cleared up in the end,leaving place for everyone to action,and spam the bombs...and now they can hide...I mean really,I've been watching the last couple of minutes,and at the end of the round you have 3 or more hamsters stuck in the betwin,waiting for the death,and since they are all in the same place.It ends up being a luck win,rather than earning it. About the power-ups update,not sure what to say,I still havent seen all of them,but I really prefered it better when it was less complicated... Im okay with the furs (since I guess people wanted them),I admit I can get confussed with so many colors,I died several times,mixing myself for someone else...But thats probably just me. What I liked about Bouboum was the challenge it had,it motivated you to get better at the game,'grow' in a way... |

Sandmelon a dit : I wasn't mad at the penalties because I ended up losing a lot more to them then I should, it's a matter that I could barely enjoy the game outside of the spawn protection because everyone would pick on you as you're just a slow, easy kill. Sandmelon a dit : Again, it was never about losing just merely getting the chance to enjoy the game. Bombspamming is an arguable tactic on many levels and I consider it the cheapest of them all, and before anyone says it's the only real way to kill anyone -- It's not. My kills and even ratio didn't come from just spamming, it came from strategy. Bombspammers have no more reason then anyone else does besides not having much respect from me. |

Luckyisdesi a dit : sydo did say they'd implement something more like tournaments. ranked was basically the exact same game as regular, with nothing differentiating it except an extra number and a separate set of stats. and double the hazelnuts, i guess, but that was a recent thing. tourneys would be a lot more challenging, i think. |

Well yeah, I kind of agree with you Sandmelon. I kind of dislike this new update beause you can't really spam bombs around anymore since bomb icons only give you 1 bomb. And the new powerups.. They're just so distracting that people just randomly kill me. Bouboum just made litterally so much changes.. I'm even going to play Transformice now. Not to offend you, Sydo. |

There are tactics outside of holding down the spacebar, you know, it being the worst one that you're now suffering for. Bombspam is still possible but it's more controlled now and not something EVERYONE flat out does, again, in less than 10 seconds. There are so many new tactics that have spawned with these new items and I highly advise anyone that has a problem with this update to just give it a chance, play around with it a bit and adapt. It's actually a lot of fun and not as bad as everyone makes it seems and even then, all the kinks are being worked out as we speak. I wasn't exactly happy when Bouboum was removed from Transformice and then released in Beta as a completely different game but now that I've gotten used to it and all these new updates.. I've never had this much fun in new bouboum till now. Seriously, just give this update a chance. |

A mate promised me to start a protest, just to get Sydolines attention. Hope he gets what he's aiming for and the old-schoolers will have at least a few rooms where we can have real fun. Keep in mind tho', I have my opinion and I will stand by it. I gave the chance you asked me and it didn't change, pardon, but BouBoum ain't what it was in my eyes. |

Sandmelon a dit : The purest the game was when it first came out on Transformice. Only defualt, Star and Skull bombs with range and bomb tiles (that only gave +1 mind you), no autobomb and the maps were all randomly generated and the walls didn't disappear nor close in on you. If that's what you're aiming for now then I'd support that, otherwise I don't consider it "old-school" to be back how the game was before this when it was full of spam. Anyways, at least you gave it a chance unlike most and you have my respect for that. |
