There are plenty of hackers on this game, yet nothing is being done about it. There are no mods to ban them and nobody to report to. I have been playing Transformice since 2010. Hackers were banned and reported easily. Bouboum deserves the same attention. The hacking is a greater problem as there are only 1 or 2 rooms with any players. Therefore gaming experience is completely ruined and only hackers are able to win the game.

Just to add:
The Bouboum community is even to young and nieve to know that these players are hacking and just blame themselves for thinking those hackers are just better players. It really pains to know their gaming experience is being destroyed.

Atelier doesn't care. Literally why a majority of its players left from when hacking first became an issue.

This quote from Whiskypickle taken from this thread is still relevant and explains some things concerning moderation on Bouboum and Fortoresse.

Whiskypickle a dit :
Don't think that this is something that both the Moderation team and Admins haven't already thought of and discussed; we all want hackers gone on all of Atelier801's games. Like Shadowwinter has already pointed out though, the small communities make hiring suitable candidates extremely hard. I haven't logged on and played Fortoresse myself (nor do I have moderation powers on there) so I haven't seen what things are like for myself, however from the amount of time I've been playing Bouboum there is barely anyone speaking English in the few populated rooms on the EN server while E2 is dead of any players. It really restricts the chances of finding viable applicants greatly.

Even if we did open applications for moderators, the moderation system for Fortoresse and Bouboum is currently broken. There's little current staff can do on these games so for now it's pointless to even hire mods.

It's just as frustrating for us as it is for everyone here. We would love to be able to hire mods for Fortoresse and Bouboum however until the moderation system is fixed we can't even begin to look for potential mods. It sucks since it means the very few people playing are discouraged from continuing to play, but for now we just have to be patient. The admins haven't forgotten about this, and even try other solutions like the Tribunal system and patching hacks, so all we can do is wait.

Lol I stopped playing this game a long time ago. "How the hell does that guy have that much range and that many bombs? wtf?". Yeah.

This is good to hear. Maybe I might actually try playing it when this gets straightened out.

There's still a report option, but then who's the report gonna go to? Nobody.

Don't you think we should have a mod or two on bouboum??

I'm just going to throw my two cents in like I have on the Fortoresse thread linked here as Bouboum also suffers from the same issues.

The biggest problem is the lack of Bouboum's Player-Base -- Which I don't ever foresee that changing anytime soon, or even at all. The Player-Base itself is just too tiny to warrant any real attention to the game without the possibility of the time and effort having gone to waste.
The Player-Base started to decline (in my opinion) when power-ups were introduced, and from then on (from my experience) a lot of old and new players began to leave due to the horribly unbalanced system.

My only suggestion now that could possibly bring a few players back, including myself, would be to remove the power-ups and implement a new system that helps newer players get into the game while also not harming the experienced ones -- One thing I have in mind is giving a single shield at the start of every round to those who have died for more than 5 rounds without getting more than 2 frags.

A secondary thing they could try upon the first thing is giving a shield to accounts with less than an hour of play-time, also making it so newer players can have more of a chance of getting into the game by helping them stay alive longer but keeping them from being unable to be frag'd. Like the current system that keeps even the better players alive.

As for the rest of the power-ups, scrap them. We only need the original ones we've had before all this which would be Bomb up, Fire up, And the bomb types. Though I wouldn't be apposed to removing the glitter bombs (Random explosion range in all directions) to give the game-play a more competitive feel.

Though with all that said -- I still think it's a little too late to take action. Without the player-base, there isn't anyone to hire.

Shadowwinter a dit :
They can't really hire new moderators with a snap of their fingers, and with how much of a small community this is I'd imagine 3/4's of the player-base isn't even qualified to be a moderator / The people that are qualified aren't interested, aren't active enough, or are just applying for the position without even playing the game.

I'd like to see moderators specifically for this game too -- I really would, but all I really have to say is good luck finding people fit for the position that aren't already Transformice moderators. Even if they do open applications it'd still be about a month or so before anyone is really hired and that doesn't necessarily mean they'd be public moderators either. There's so many little things to take into account but now is definitely better than later.

Well, maybe the next time they open mod registrations they can have an option for 'other atelier games', so maybe when they pick a mod, they moderate all three games. Well..more like two, since nekodancer is shutting down, then close down the 'other game' registration after about 3 mods have bee picked. This may be a bad idea, or a good idea, not really sure...

The only problem I see with that is what's already been stated before. I doubt 95% of the applicants would've played any of the other games, let alone heard of them. That makes them fall under the criteria of applying for the position without playing the game -- And it's possible many players could be unfairly banned if that hired moderator doesn't have any experience with the game.

Latency issues can easily make someone look like they're hacking on Bouboum, it can be pretty difficult to distinguish the two differences for an un-experienced player. At least from when I played, though it was easy for me to tell the difference having played a lot. I imagine the hacking issues have gotten much worse since then and there's also probably much worse things now too.

There just isn't really away to solve the issue easily -- I still don't think the admins really want to put time into Bouboum that could be put towards Transformice, anyway.

ooh i just noticed this in the chat

[~Moderator] H4mst3rs can not speak for 0 hours. Reason: Please no flood.

Online mods:

So they actually do have mods on bouboum I guess, but only like one or two.

And @Shadowwinter, yeah, I guess your right, but we already have like 50 mods in total on tfm.

The problem is tig (if he's still in charge..) is so stupid to only allow 18 year old no lifers to be moderators.. many kids play alot and can act mature. If they abuse their mod power then simply demote them.. I'm so fucking tired of noob brazilians with their stupid little hacks.. they can't even understand simple English.

Easy u can't. Even if they do down the age limit for mod it most likely be age 16. You got a colorful mouth for 11... -.-

There's at least one hacker on every day I've tried to play. We don't need younger mods or more players, we just need applications for moderating to be opened. Same for Fortoresse.
