Account Protection Guide |

Hi Mice! The amount of stolen accounts is increasing in an alarming rate. A lot of mice have lost their cheese, fraises or their entire account. This thread is here to remind you to make sure that your account is safely protected against naughty mice. A strong password is key! • Your password must be unique. Unique passwords ensure that your accounts stay safe. Make sure that you are not reusing your Atelier801 password on another website. When a website gets breached their sensitive data will be exposed to naughty mice. Having a unique password ensure that it is only the account on that website that can be compromised. You can use the haveibeenpwned website to look up your accounts. • Your password must be complicated. A strong password contains both numbers, symbols and have mixed use of lowercase and uppercase letters. • Your password must not be easily guessable. Don't use dictionary words, family names, personal info, your city name, birth dates or anything too easy that close friends can guess. There are a lot of players that use the same password as other players without even knowing it! Those players are not using a strong password but rather a common password such as [(transformice, 12345678, football, qwertyuiop). A huge list with the most common passwords used has been made by Matt Burnett, you can check it out here. We highly recommend you to check if your password is listed there and to change it to a strong password. Your password is yours alone! Keep it safe! • Never share your password with anyone. This includes family, friends and significant others. You wouldn't give the key to your castle to everyone right? • Moderators, Administrators and other staff members will NEVER ask for your password! It has become a common tactic used by account thieves to impersonate staff members to ask for your password. Don't trust them. If someone approaches you and asks you for your password, please report this to an in-game moderator. • Don't trust websites claiming to give you free gifts The only way to get Fraises is to buy them trough the game or at the accounts page of this forum. You can earn fraises by winning them in official contests. These contests are posted in the announcements sub forum or on the official Transformice Discord. A reminder of about those websites can be read here. • Don't trust any website outside of this list. • Change your password often. If your ever suspect your account has been compromised, change your password immediately! Link your e-mail address! By linking an email address to your account, you'll be able to change your password by yourself! You will also get 40 free cheese and a special item as a reward for doing it. There are two ways to link your email to your Atelier801 account. Method 1 - In-game 1. Click Change my password in the game menu. 2. Fill the fields with your own email address. 3. Check your mailbox. You've received an email from noreply@transformice.com with a unique code. If you did not receive the email, check your spam folder and/or wait for a few minutes. We advise you to keep the window open. 4. Copy and paste the code you've received into the field to validate your email address. Method 2 - Forums 1. Open the my account page. 2. Fill in the fields with your own email address. 3. Check your mailbox. You've received an email from noreply@transformice.com with a unique code. 4. Copy and paste the code you've received into the field to your email address. Use Two Factor Authenticaton where possible! It is highly recommended to enable two factor authentication at your email accounts. This makes it harder for thiefs to access your account. With two factor authentication you will have to enter a extra code that only you can obtain. These codes can be obtained from an App such as Authy or gAuth or trough SMS. As of now, Atelier801 does not support two factor authentication but common mail services such as Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo support it.
