cyberzeist a dit : Why you need to speak with everyone ? And it's up to the player to do that in a safe spot. Domination... this is where the team chat is useful because teamwork is more important here. |

+supergrunt a dit : That moment when you log in, and play, then your friends greet you mid-game, gets me everytime, i feel like if i don't respond, they will think im a snub Well, i guess the team chat should be useful in domination, if someone actually listens besides your friends Dernière modification le 1464666840000 |

The better thing to do is assign one player as head of command and have them have the ability to place markers with text to show players where to go. Much easier and more noticeable. |

cyberzeist a dit : "There's also different ways a team chat could be implemented. If it was like a normal chat room, that would block out all normal messages, but if it was something more like whispering (/c, and then keeping that as chat focus until you hit esc), it would allow people to team chat if they wanted, but still have the default window / chat option to be open." I don't talk to friends in separate tabs, encase that's adding confusion. I think of team chat being more like the TFM "#traitor" team chat / the Fortereese team chat (from my little experience). |

It's like this (don't look at the white square it's a Paint thing) , "team" messages are white but they all share the same block. Almost everything about the Transformice chat come from Extinction anyway (tribe messages being green) . |

Team Chat could be good...besides most of the time when your team is trying to warn you of somthing your opponent can see the chat and quickly change action. |

smudgexx a dit : Even if Fortoresse was the biggest game on the planet, most rooms would still only have around 20 players in a room. So this isn't really a valid argument in my opinion since there's not really a correlation between size of playerbase and usefulness of a given feature in a given room. +supergrunt a dit : Exactly what I was thinking more or less. Although it would probably be nice to have something to make it obvious what the white text stands for for newer players (an icon maybe?). Dernière modification le 1464790320000 |

Fewfre a dit : The "something" is the [Team] , of course it's all messages on the top of each other or not, like whispers... your choice. |

Maybe. If Fort can handle getting people in and out of chats as they switch teams. If Fort can't won't it be eavesdropping on the other team? Also, people might decide to be inappropriate or just not talk or listen at all. There should also be an option to leave the chat, as some people might decide to be offensive, sort of like blocking a certain person out. -Masterkaren |

+supergrunt a dit : Sorry, I think I explained myself poorly; I meant something -after- you post the message. New players won't understand that white text is the team text; usually white text would be public, with red / blue being private. I guess it could just be a thing you "learn", but considering how few people know how to play the game it seems, I'm just worried plain white text might not be obvious enough. Or maybe I just don't play enough "Team vs Team" games, and this color behavior is obvious *shrugs* hemlockarsen a dit : - I see no reason to leave to be able to leave the team chat; it's just a subset of public chat. if someone's being annoying, just ignore them or leave the room as normal. - It wouldn't be that hard to have the team chat switch as you switch teams (everything else does). And isn't it kinda of a given they wouldn't add a feature like this if people could eavesdrop through a bug (that would be kind of a game breaking bug, no? that's like saying people shouldn't sell food if it might be poisoned; it's kind of an unspoken assumption)? I mean, all the server needs to do is 1 check to see if it should send you the message based on your team (again, the TFM "Traitor" module does it fine). - If people don't talk / listen that's fine (or rather doesn't make this suggestion moot)! Again, this is just a subset of public chat, with the only difference being only your team can see it. Even if only 1 person talks once in the game, and only one person listens, that could never the less change that game from near loss to a near win. But if your in a room with even half decent people, then they will read team messages, and - if they're free / they realize a message takes priority - act on it. Fewfre a dit : But red and blue are used on Forteresse, Transformice and Fortoresse (the Forteresse module too) . |
