I also find it confusing; that's the reason I've purposefully avoid saying the name =p I'm actually (presently) surprised on other threads how much people have adopted the new names... I still dislike their choice of names though, I preferred the unofficial ones.

The unofficial names were better and I kind of wish they used them instead but oh well, adapting wasn't too hard but honestly no one's forcing you to use the official ones ! The only misunderstanding I can see coming from the unofficial names is the mix up between Defense+ and Shield, otherwise everyone should know what you're talking about.
