Anywho there isn't just one "Best" anyways. There could be the best in many things: Building shelters, sniping, supports, etc.

And even these may depend on the map, other players, etc :)

I wouldn't really bring maps too far into this because some of them kind of are biased towards the defending/attacking team though but that's just my opinion.

I agree with shadow's statement about teamwork. Just because someone gets a lot of kills or is really hard to kill does not make them the best.

Yes, there are times when a single player can influence the outcome of an entire game. I feel that the skill comes more towards the power of the player to influence the final outcome, whether it be barely cutting the VIP's HP to a point to help their team win, or getting into the flag at the last possible moment to save their team.

I've had plenty of times where this has happened. I've had many screwups too.
One time I was attacking the VIP and all of my teammates around me died just as the enemy VIP hit 1 HP. Yet I couldn't make the final shot even when the VIP was in front of me, and our team lost because of that. This made me think that the team really owed their success to their more skilled players because of their ability to influence the game. I couldn't make that final shot and our entire team suffered a defeat because of that.

Another time I defeated an entire team 7 on 1 in domination, causing my team to earn a victory. I was called a hacker so many times that game, but at that moment I knew that's where skill came from -- the power to change the outcome of a game even at its bleakest moments.

I've also had times where at the moments where our team was dominating the most, suddenly shadowtrophy comes in and blows everyone up completely changing the tide of the game. I've also seen him patiently playing in domination rounds with his sniper cutting down everyone that tried to get to him.

I've also seen guests doing this as well. Weak as they seem, some of them know where to hit where it hurts.

It's very difficult to measure how a player influences a game. Thus there isnt really one definite answer as to who is the best player. But I believe that skill is really knowing your place in the game, knowing what you can do and where your limits are, and what is the right or wrong thing to do.

Taking all this into consideration, some of the skilled players that I know:
Shadowtrophy, Ganzan, Cheesegul, Cyberzeist

The admins have changed some of them to make it more even, but I don't think it made a large difference.

Haven't even noticed a difference from when I've been playing. Still there are some maps out there that if your team doesn't get there fast enough you pretty much lose the map.

There's also some maps where there may be an advantage people can take / exploit, but if you have inexperienced or single-minded players, they may just ignore it. It's also possible to know how to remove an opponent's advantage on a map, through various means. I guess this could just be considered "part of gameplay", but each map has it's own advantages and weakness that are useful to know.

I say Livcorish is the best because while she is a good shooter, she's a better team mate. She sacrifices herself for other team mates, and always defends the VIP. She is more concerned about others than herself, and is good at placing the best shooters in positions where they can do hella damage.

I've thought about other servers, but I found it in my best interest to try and stick to players people would know and have seen playing the game from this specific forum.

I think it'd be interesting if someone went out and scouted other players from other servers though, it could make for some quite interesting changes and possibly even competition over other servers... Hmm~

I can barely move in the game with lag because it makes my character have a lot of friction against grounds. Unlike others who can zoom up a staircase of pixels, I can barely crawl up it, I have to spam jump.
Because of that I can't really dodge or build shields, I'm best for sniping from the back of the group and adding supports such as med kits and attack+. But despite my disadvantages I can do fairly well without stationed sniping, but still not as good as I'd want to be.

Supports ftw!

i actually have to disagree with that list, just like before (actually have to agree with ysosadbro) they can't do crap with teams. Like snailgary said, working with smaller groups are better. kinda like squads. if you can work well like that then you can consider yourself in the top 10. But yes, individual stats do make a difference while working together. tbh i rarely see anyone who works like that. shadowtrophy...just another biased claim by people who are newbies. Cheesegul had basicly said he lsot his touch. i've really never seen ganzan as much anymore..... and cyber? she/he is more of an individual player.

Holister but it's much harder to measure contribution in support roles especially when lots of people are firing at each other at once and it's hard to see what's going on.

The main point of those 4 being on my list is that they have the most influence on individual games, either in supporting or individual roles. Doesn't have to be one or the other.

There are some other mainstream players out there who get mentioned a lot and I talked about this with my friend today about someone who he considered good because he accepted it as being so, and I can't see how they could be considered good at all other than the fact that they are doing individual work.

I'd like to see you contribute a list and what you think skill comes from.

To me, skill comes from whether you can do something when people depend on you to do it.

Have you seen him play? While I agree certain people are hyped up a bit, I don't believe he is one of them. He can do almost all (if not all) of the strategies in the tactics library. tbh it sounds more like jealousy than true criticism.

Not to call her out, but a friend told me Juneprincess was the best and I asked him why and found out that it was because everyone else said she was.
There's some others who match this description, but June is the best example.
Honestly though, when I do come to see them play, the only ones that actually fulfils what everyone thinks is shadowtrophy and ganzan. Hence why they are on my list.

I have to admit he is really good in terms of individual skill. but the reason why i say many players not even close to his skill level tell me he is "pro" is because they say that because they when he was still using sniper, everyone saw how many kills he had gotten with it. And that just because they can't do it doesn't mean they should "Worship" him. Literally everytime they see him they get hyped like you said. Honestly he has played more than me. therefore i can't compare.
so not jealousy. Just giving my personal experience and opinion. Cause i really think the newcomers think kills show skill (ysosadbro) tho getting kills are part of the game and are very important just like everyone else support roles can do a major deal. BUT, shadowtrohpy was widely known for getting many kills with his sniper back before the updates with the hair and stuff even came. So because iof that reason those "newbies" today still remember him for that and spread the word to other newcomers. No hate really. I give all respects. And just like you said teamwork is all important. i do sometimes see a small group work together to try and take down a vip's bunker or even try to survive together domination maps. And that is when i would call them good. Also their individual skill great. Shadowtrophy, well i wouldn't say he doesn't but i often see him go alone into enemy flag and just put a mine then flees. thats a good tactic but "I" never see him work in a small group. maybe in a domination map and he and 2 other people are the only ones left. And manage to win or survive. But other than that i dont see him put any teamwork with other teammates. he does sometimes manages to save my ass at some points just like solfn said depending on others when you need them. this applies to all the others who are greatly known for their individual skill.

oh and ysosadbro the thing you had mentioned about how fast firing guns are much more easier to get kills is false. they take the same amount of time to kill. A famas on an average uses at least 27-29 bullets to kill a person without hitting any conj. which is about 3.5 seconds to kill. As for in terms of crossfire. a sniper can easily spam 17 dmg and steal so many kills. thats why m40 a5 are known for their easy kills. And they were made to have super accuracy so it would be surprising for me to see someone miss with one (without any conj used). but lets just say there was conj, well uzi good? you just gotta take down all taht conj and then snipe again. or just go around and try to get a good shot. all ya gotta do it use you mosue and aim at whatever you want and it'll hit it. simple. And making an excuse of saying you dont play your best in public but play your best when doing a 1v1? you only said that because people would see how your not so good as you claim to be in public rooms. and people dont even know who you are for that reason is because you dont do anything to be recognised as on of the "best"
i mean if you were good then why haven't you known about all the tactics in solfn's advance tactic library? HUH? a person who were really as good would have known atleast 60+ % of what was in there. Not saying you had to post them but you gotta know them to get cocky about your "skill". Also using perks to get a large amount of kills would require quick thinking and actual game skill. cause once a person sees a mine or even a c4 they would automatically try to avoid so you dont get any use from it. to let you know this would apply to normal players not newbies. So knowing where to place them and use them is skill. Also just for fun perks generally mean skills so since you have no perks you have no skill :)
