So I know some people have been wondering when will they update Fortoresse and I am too. I remember people saying they were going to update it after the Halloween event. Two months later..... Still no update! I have become bored most of the times when I play Fortoresse. All we can do is the regular maps and domination. There isn't anything new. I still play at times, but I just really want them to update it. |

Last major update was 5 months ago with the new guns and the clip restrictions. We're still trying to keep things interesting by developing new metas (in fact, developed one yesterday) but everything is just the same and the game takes itself too seriously and honestly I believe fortoresse can become bigger than tfm. Atelier801 can just monetise the game if they really want to. I don't see what they're doing continuing to monetise a game that's already big when they can at the same time attract more people to fortoresse with a big update. The same reason they're holding back the updates is what's going to make these games big, and that's really sad. Another big issue is the increase in hackers discouraging newer players from getting into the game. I got this post off the BR forum: TRANSLATED VER: Imaginemod (tfm moderator) said: I agree in part. About moderation, moderators apply to be Transformice moderators, and how the main game Atelier801, takes much of our time online. Few moderators have the power in Forto (like me), and those few logam sometimes in your spare time to ban hackers. The problem is that the people think that there is no moderator there and end up not using the report. When I right, for example, has very few reports in the log, then it is difficult to go from room to room looking at the two teams and look for some hacker. You playing, please start using more the report, and ask for the game of personal use as well, it makes the job of looking for them much easier hacks and fast when we moderates there Apparently, mods were introduced into the game on Ver 1.34. I haven't actually confirmed with anyone that this is true, but if it is, then none of them are doing their job properly, and they're just all re-used moderators from tfm. I use the /mod command, and none of them are ever online. None of them have fortoresse experience making phasing out the hacks ridiculously troublesome. Also, none of them play regularly and can't monitor fort all the time letting hackers run wild without people knowing there are moderators around to ban them. At least if they wanna re-use moderators, make the /tribunal command work so we can judge hackers.. Another major issue is the balancing of weapons and guns. New metas are slowly changing the way we use each weapon (e.g. spas 12 is beginning to go out of fashion in favor of the MP5, even the hack meta is putting the m40 a5 back into fashion in domination) and some weapons are either overpowered or just unused. Some maps favour the attacking or defending team too strongly. In the future, on the trello, atelier801 says it will rank fortoresse players based on how many rounds they've won. I predict in the future, this will probably ruin the spirit of fortoresse (people bitching about being on the wrong/bad team) and I don't think ranks should go on in this way -- need a better, more skilled way, rather than rewarding those who play nonstop. I don't mean to sound like a pest, atelier is broke and there's lots of stuff going on in France right now but I just wish better on these games. Dernière modification le 1420925160000 |

First of all, Atelier801 is working on Transformice because it is their biggest success among all their games. It wouldn't make sense to stop developing it because with the amount of players they need to keep the game in check. The more players there are, the more bugs discovered and potentially exploited, increasing the need for A801 to work on it. Constantly players complain about bugs, etc. It may be true that Fortoresse can become larger than TFM, but it will take a lot of time and effort. Also if they wish to work efficiently on all their games they need a larger staff group, but that takes a lot of people obviously. The job is very hard already and working on their projects is already on a tight schedule as they do have other jobs and other things that need their attending. To keep TFM big and popular they have to constantly make sure it doesn't get into or even close to "bad" shape. At the rate TFM is going at it does need attending and constant work. Many things are demanded of it and the admins do have to think about what they should and should not add to satisfy the players. With a smaller player-base in Fortoresse it's not as important to keep it up to good standards and the sort unlike TFM. Though I agree that Fortoresse could use more work I cannot say that they should stop working and developing TFM primarily. It is the main source of income for A801 so they can even consider working on Fortoresse in the future even if it's minuscule. If they were to shift their priority to Fortoresse TFM would undoubtedly get worse and the player-base would decrease since they can't exactly release updates so quickly with their numbers and time. Once again, if that were to happen they'd get less income and then all their games would get out of development and inevitably die out. |

Steam release --> Primary focus right now is not to directly earn money from its existing players, but to invite more players into the game (additional revenue from more players joining the game) I'm thinking after they're done with that they can start getting more people into the other games too. |

Hopefully the steam release will see some more focus on some of their other games though (either due to more people joining the game, or just it not taking up the devs' time), or at the least see some focus on some of the other large tfm update on their Trello, which hopefully means they are that much closer at getting in a "good place" and have time to work on their other games. |

The Steam release may not be directly effecting their revenue but if they do allow payment options through Steam that would open up a lot more options for users that don't have a phone or pay-pal, such as pre-paid cards through Steam and even for users that can make money off the Steam Community Market from playing games that allow items to be sold. I'd say it's a step in the right direction to becoming stable as a company again, but not really sure if it's enough for them to consider focusing on Fortoresse and/or Bouboum more considering their sights might be set on Celousco. |

While the steam release is somewhat off topic, yeah, you'll be able to buy fraises using the steam wallet. There are currently no staff members dedicated to either Forto or Bouboum although some of them have the rights to ban there. Atelier 801 is not really recruiting staff for these games yet either, as we're waiting for some internal changes that should make it a bit easier for us to do that sort of work. However I don't really know any timeline or specifics and if I did I should probably shut up about those. However, I definitely believe you when you say that rule breakers and cheaters are a problem. |

As said multiple times and somewhat obvious, creating games or even making huge updates on a game will take a very long time. Many new games and huge updates are planned out earlier so there is no need to complain. I am no programmer but i can tell you that it is time consuming. Not only that it is time consuming, fort is not their big games and so they will have to set fort aside till their done with tfm or neko. So please be respectful to the people who work to improve our experiences on their games. And I agree with shadowwinter, they should be focusing on celousco since it looks like a very big game, i look for forward to it, |

Well, we have two hackers in this room right now and there are not even mods on tfm for us to call on in our time of need. The hacker is dominating the kill feed and taking all the kills making it impossible anyone else to get to the top spot (top spot switches teams) |

Need another cheat as counter... Annoying cheaters are those triple sniper shot, don't care about flying ones. |

#!@$ hackers are always the problem of any online games,so I guess no clues. You can't exterminate the #!@$ hackers, and it's a time consuming thing. Personally,I hope they focus on 1 or 2 games only, because they have limit resource. They have already 4 games, when adding Celousco to be 5 games,it would take a mass of works. But this is what they are doing,so don't expect this game can be updating fast. |

siuker a dit : +1 I really hate them. I see one with M40 who shoot you and killed you (one shoot). |

So we tried again to do justice to a hacker in room 1 who was terrorising everyone with instant kill weaponry causing several complaints, and there were several moderators online but when we tried to get them to come here all the ones who probably had power were afk or disabled their whispers (what's the point if you're a mod and nobody can whisper you for help) and they were just in general not doing their job. The only moderator I actually got to respond was Sweetphoenix who didn't have fort powers so the hacker got away free. Really annoyed. Yet to see justice done to a hacker at all. We need fort regular moderators, not these mods that just afk and disable whispers and just sit in tfm not doing anything. Another thing: hardly anyone knows that they're able to report ppl in fort and mods can only see these reports when they visit fort (which is basically once in a blue moon) and they expire in a short amount of time, allowing the hackers to get away free. We need to whisper mods but if they aren't even letting us contact them we don't have any influence at all. I'm sorry for the frustration but I get so annoyed when this keeps happening. Other than that, it would be extremely helpful to have a public list of moderators with fortoresse powers so we don't have to keep asking randomly Dernière modification le 1421192160000 |

solfn a dit : You could create a thread with mods that have fort powers, with some general instruction on "properly" reporting hackers (and/or even a "Moderators" wiki page if you want to allow other people to update it on occasion). |

Well I found out that apparently the mods with forto powers are: - Katburger - Whiskypickle - Some mods from BR Thanks Secretive for the info. |
