| OVERVIEW A recent issue has arisen where Fortoresse and the other branch games are completely abandoned. Fortoresse has much more potential and bringing moderators into the game would prove that there is an active fanbase and would encourage people to stay in the game. A funcorp could also be introduced to Fortoresse to mix things up. This is no longer an issue about trying to stop the game from dying due to being overrun by cheaters and unbalanced/boring game mechanics. It is now an issue of bringing a game back to life, one with so much more potential and an already competitive and newly proactive fanbase. I was encouraged by several friends online on Fort to start this thread. Trolls and haters are not helping anyone: Take your butthurt elsewhere. MILESTONE 1: Whiskypickle responded, see page 2. Incorrect information removed from Current Moderation page. MILESTONE 2: 50 Supporters reached. MILESTONE 3: Main hacks indefinitely patched. MILESTONE 4: 80 Supporters reached. MILESTONE 5: Retromuis is the first EN moderator to take action on a branch game. Source MILESTONE 6: 100 Supporters! MILESTONE 7: 3 years later, we have fortoresse moderation (See page 16) WHY THIS IS A PROBLEM The game is dead. Most of the community is starting to accept this. However, of those who were formally pessimistic, a new community is arising that is just as proactive as me in the cause of reviving this game. They started an international Fortoresse tournament 2016 independent of me. This proves that I am not the only one who wants to bring back this game. It might be dead, unbalanced and toxic, but we haven't given up on bringing back the game we loved. It's time to shift our focus and bring the communities of the branch games to attention. Moderation would prove that we are an active community and would erase the toxic, unwanted qualities of the game and breathe refreshment into the fanbase. WHY SHOULD ATELIER801 LISTEN? Here are several reasons why atelier801 should listen to the community: - There are no moderators online around noon in France - Some hacking regulars deliberately choose this time so that no moderation can take action against them - Please see the Current Moderation page on this petition. According to Jackalpaw, Katburger is hardly active (yet she has the power). I have whispered the moderators from BR several times and received no response while the Cheaters run while and terrorise room 1, despite all the reports made about them. - Activity on Fortoresse is declining partially because of cheaters who ruin the gameplay experience for newer players who don't have a chance to learn just how complex and deep of a game this really is to Fortoresse regulars like myself and several others supporting this petition. - Re-used Transformice moderation has no Fortoresse experience whatsoever, and spend several minutes looking for a cheater when most of them don't even know the basic elements of the game (such as each weapon's stats, telling the difference between speed hacks and physical conflicts) - Current moderators have very little power on the game due to the broken moderation system. - The community is extremely toxic (especially recently, and is the worst in Fortoresse) with insults and swears being thrown around like nothing and everyone in general having a bad attitude. [Please contribute to this section if you have any other reasons] CONCLUSION We want to be able to deal with cheaters and toxic members of the community quickly as we spot them, not have to wait for some moderator to come on later in the day or wait on some AFK moderator who never responds. This is a game I have played and loved for nearly a year. I started playing Fortoresse in March, and I loved my first experience in the game. I didn't enjoy the graphics of the landscape as much, but as months passed, I realised just how intricate and complex of a game Fortoresse was compared to even Transformice, and how much potential it had to become a popular game. Fortoresse currently sits as the second most popular game behind Transformice. It exceeded the performance of Bouboum and Nekodancer. Why? Because there are several people out there who agree with me on just how beautiful of a game this really is. None of us want to watch the game die out while the moderators are completely oblivious to our pain. Please comment in this thread to show your support for this game with such high potential for improvement and popularity. We want to smash the 100 supporters target and show Atelier 801 just how committed to this cause we are. PS: Here's a challenge to Forum moderators: If moderation closes this thread down, then it just means that they are more interested in maintaining a corrupt system where the players have no voice about the future of the game, and they would rather see Fortoresse die than promote its activity. If they close this thread, Fortoresse will die from inadequate moderation made worse by ignorant Forum moderation. I would rather be sanctioned trying, rather than let this game die. I have removed the information in this page to prevent witch hunting. However, finally, 3 years later, we have a moderator (Celeius). See page 16. Why'd it take so long? Understand that the powers of the moderation were broken and extremely limited for that entire time, hence they couldn't actually do anything in game even if they wanted to. It has been recently fixed, so Celeius has been able to get access to these powers. As an extra comment, I know Tigrounette at one point was very interested in this game as he was generous enough to give us all of the weapon stats so that we could analyse them on the Fortoresse wiki. Finally I would like the Administration to comment about it, we are players and sometimes even pay for items in the company's games, then we have the right to demand corrections in the game and the admins the duty to fulfill. If this temporary investment in just one game, which at least be more explicit. Imaginemod (BR) ...moderators apply to be Transformice moderators, and how the main game Atelier801, takes much of our time online. Few moderators have the power in Forto (like me), and those few logam sometimes in your spare time to ban hackers. The problem is that the people think that there is no moderator there and end up not using the report. When I right, for example, has very few reports in the log, then it is difficult to go from room to room looking at the two teams and look for some hacker. You playing, please start using more the report, and ask for the game of personal use as well, it makes the job of looking for them much easier... HOW TO DEAL WITH CHEATERS Cheaters have gotten far more dangerous from 22/7/16 onwards. Report all cheaters and please try to contribute in our efforts to get attention to the admins so they will fix the currently broken moderation powers of our Fortoresse moderators. In the meantime, if you see a cheater, just run. Don't bother fighting, they are just after free kills. Cheaters may exist in game and can ruin your gaming experience if allowed to run free. Use the /report command to report the player in violation of fortoresse guidelines, and be aware of how to deal with these players if you see one. Think you've spotted a cheater? Currently, cheaters can be doing one of two things: 1) If a player is blatantly shooting you/at you through a wall: Examine the player's movements. A number of requisites can determine whether the player is cheating: - If the player is teleporting quite erratically while moving, or shows signs of late reactions to your movements, they may just be very laggy. - If you are only taking hits very soon after you disappear behind walls, away from the attacking player, or after defending, this is also lag. Your movements are showing later than expected on the opposing player's screens, allowing them to attack you this way. - If a bullet hits you through a wall that comes from a source above you, there is nothing wrong. - If the suspected player is standing very still (usually wielding the M40 A5) and starts hitting you through walls for apparently no reason, you may have found a cheater. How to counter this exploit: Please Click Here for accompanying video of the description below. First off, warn your team and advise them the following. Stay well below the cheater. This means you must get as directly below them as possible, and not rely on a downward slant to be safe. The real deal (cheat) can shoot through walls in all directions except in sharp downward angles; so as long as you stand at that angle to the cheater you are safe. In addition, try to coerce the cheater into headshots by forcing them to act out of habit; because this particular cheat is incapable of landing headshots. If you are unsure what kind of angle is safe or not, the yellow region on this diagram is definitely safe:  2) If the map is filled with hostile conjur unusually quickly: Examine the other team. Are they a conjur heavy team? If not, try to locate the player that is using conj constantly; a "good" cheater may control their ability EXCEPT in tense situations, but a bad cheater will make their unlimited usage of blocks quite evident. This may be quite difficult to do, but the difference is quite noticeable if they die. How to counter this exploit: Locate the cheater as quickly as possible and kill them first. If all else fails, just leave the room. We do not have information about this to explain or counter it at this time. 3) If all four shots from a spas-12 are hitting you even at a large distance for no reason: Run. |
