I think emotional pain can be worse in some cases but I'd like to get everyone's opinion

Like you said, it really depends on the situation at hand.

Physical pain is the worst kind of pain there is. Want to forget whatever is mentally ailing you? So stub your toe. Place your hand on a stove. Break a bone. Etc. I highly doubt you will be thinking about any of your emotional grievances in those situations.

I think it could be worse, but only in extreme cases

Physical is more worse. Well both are... It depends how painful/threatening or torchering in physical violence. However, emotional pain will be well.... If you hurt their feelings to much, it can cause suicide (depends what they are going to do to themselves) welp... Dernière modification le 1466758320000

Physical although i can handle alot, i rarely feel pain but if emotionally and it's rough it feels like i'm suffocating literally (my throat gets tightened badly so it's like i'm choking)

i interpreted your question as "mental state vs. physical state" rather than "emotional pain vs. physical pain" so i'm not really sure if it's a valid answer, but i would say mental/emotional. it really does depend on the case though. (physical pain can sometimes lead to emotional issues so in this case, it's unclear. alternatively, your mental state can also have a large impact on your physical state, so it's kind of hard to compare.) Snatti a dit : i suppose it depends how you're comparing them. things like burning yourself or stepping on lego hurt like hell but they're usually momentary and can be treated a lot more easily than emotional [pain] due to their physicality. personally i think physical pain and emotional pain are two completely different types of pain which makes them hard to compare (especially without any specific situation)

It really depends on the situation, some people have a high pain tolerance, but emotional pain can turn into physical pain so they come hand to hand.

i was emotionally abused and i would rather physical any day. physical pain can and will most likely heaal over time. emotional abuse takes far longer.

definitely emotional. physical pain and scars go away eventually as long as you properly care for it but emotional pain and scars are pretty much always there, the scar can lessen but it doesn't go away completely.

Personally I think physical pain is worse, you can always get over emotional pain.

It depends on the situation. Let's say someone is deeply heartbroken by something, while writing something, and accidently gives themselves a small paper cut. Which pain would be worse in that situation: Emotional or Physical? But sometimes they can affect eachother, so it's not easy to compare them. But overrall, I think emotional pain is worse. Secretive a dit : Are you saying that physical pain is something you can't get over? And you can't always get over emotional pain, especially if it develops into a disorder, like schrizophrenia or a serious eating disorder (which can lead to death) for example. But anyways, I'd say that both are just as bad.
