On the contrary, I've found some very welcoming fandom communities besides those two. Just because you've seen the worst of some of them doesn't mean every single fandom is completely bad. (And vice versa, not all fandoms are perfect.) There are bad parts and good parts to each one, and people tend to notice the bad ones more.

drawing fat characters as skinny characters are a huge deal in the fandom
there are many characters in the show that happen to be fat or chubby, or not strictly skinny
