I think sentinels should be able to moderate cafe, but really I have only opened cafe on about 5 separate occasions; only the first time was because I was semi interested in it as something useful.

The cafe is my life please no

I have never used the cafe more than twice to promote opinions about something I needed judged by other people. Other than those two cafe topics I made briefly, the cafe has never interfered with me in any way. It is very easy not to click the cafe for players who don't use it although for the people who actually use the cafe, the lack of moderation i'm reading about in this topic could pose as a serious problem if not already troubling.

Unless the cafe suddenly gets as big as the forums, which I don't think will happen, I do not think Transformice would add an entire new branch of moderators for the sole purpose of moderating a little in-game community chat group option, thus leading to the possibility of adding a new job to a mod's list of things to watch over which is already a handful. A lot of moderators have their whispers on /silence because they're allowed to be players before a mod because they're only volunteers, not paid to have all these extra jobs on top of dealing with hundreds of whispers.

With these things said, I think there are only a little obvious handful of outcomes this could possibly lead to regarding the cafe deletion debate:

• Don't click it?
• Adding another job to the mod's already full list of duties to do
• I read on here about connecting the cafe to the forums, which would seem to fall under a sent's job to watch over the cafe content if this were to happen somehow
• And finally, the complete deletion of the cafe

In overall, the cafe isn't exactly essential for Transformice, it only forms as source of entertainment for the players other than the traditional cheese gathering. If the cafe is proving to a serious problem, then I think the admins should solve the cafe problem sooner than later to please all parties involved with a middle ground that satisfies everybody. I do not think the cafe should be deleted at all if the admins have a very good solution for it that'll fix it.

There are other games where they implemented chat filters into these kinds of things which could prove a better solution than as it is right now. My own personal idea that i'm adding onto this chat filter idea is the use of a different kind of muting. Let's say a new person wants to talk on the cafe, they should have to deal with the chat filter for a month. An in-game cafe bot (or something that automatically detects) could evaluate the person's behavior to make sure nothing inappropriate was said, which will allow that person to pass onto talking freely. If a mod or something finds that you're abusing your talking freedom on the cafe, they could reset your process of having a chat filter for two months instead of one as a pose of 'mute'.

I apologize for this lecture but I felt like typing down my thoughts on this debate. Cheers for those who read through this entire thing.

Remove the cafe if there are few mods moderations activities in the cafe, unless dev make a new mod system for the cafe instead. Plus, did you use Special character in PHP? I always see tldr;

the only thing i hate about the cafe ( i go onto the e2 cafe just about everyday ) is that when people dont like a certain thing ( for example, lesbians ) they will dislike ANY post about them, this goes for fandoms, taste in music, etcetc.

this also goes for when someone hates on something that another person hates, they will like that comment.

the dislike thing should give reasons why you are disliking it, honestly, like, lets say someone posted a screamer and you disliked the comment, a window would pop up giving lists of why you disliked the comment, and there could be an " other " option and a bar you can fill out.

Café is rarely moderated, that's what's fun about café :)
