i dont wanna say "FUCKING DELETE IT" or "KEEP IT" because a lot of people both like AND hate the cafe. i dont want the game to also lose its players cuz the cafe will be forever gone for the people who truly like it and use it for its intended purposes, but i know and i believe the community can be better than this. we are all capable of being nice and rational people if we give a little effort, some of us just choose not to.
on one hand the cafe is fun for those who have made friends and like to log on to the cafe daily to roleplay, joke (about appropriate stuff), do art requests, create funny or meaningful topics, or just to see what's popping right now.
but on the other hand some toxic players will come along and spread negativity and that will get a lot of attention, positive or negative based on who finds it funny and who doesn't.
how i see this negativity spreads (particularly in the community) is that some impressionable underage kids (say like 10 and under.) are exposed to that content. they will also see the positive feedback is (sometimes) greater than the negative feedback. so by if they gauge the amounts to positive to negative responses and instead of develop the thought of "hey that's bad" (from the negative responses) they will try and imitate it to gain popularity or acceptance from their peers. (positive responses.)
so this is how i see how the game has its reputation of having a toxic community. because of poor little kids learning the wrong things and passing it off to others to look "cool" or "funny"
BUT the cafe does have its upsides despite that one fatal flaw
a nice portion of the cafe consists of nice people who are accepting and make the community somewhat tolerable.
so what i think is that we should give the cafe at least one more chance before suggesting that it needs to be moderated more
if it still is bad we try and see if the admins can implement some kind of filter
if it's (unlikely) still bad, we delete it.
