i'm just saying magikarps aren't a very smart pokemon choice
unless you're planning on training it to evolve it into a gyarados?
but you can't have every pokemon you have be a magikarp, otherwise it just makes your party useless.

you can get a moon stone somewhere in game.
also, wild lunatone have a 5% chance of holding them. (in meteor falls)
if you have a secret base, secret base pals can have the skill of picking up stones, including the moon stone.

There's one in the top-left corner in the area that you don't use Surf in Meteor Falls.
