What you look for in a tribe: Active and easy to get along with players. Maturity requirement of 16+ or something close; it's just not easy getting along with someone half or two-thirds my age. I don't care if the tribe is focused, like a Pokemon tribe, or if it's just a general group to hang out with.
What I'm not looking for: General Anime/Manga tribes, Pixelmon, fandoms other than Pokemon, tribes with a lot of My Little Pony/Homestuck/Hetalia fans, Roleplaying tribes where you play as a single character constantly in chat (if it's roleplaying I want more in depth paragraph based stories in the forums)

they were bots that could play minigames, some could chat with your tribe, some could monitor the tribe in a sense. although, after the community platform was added, bots were banned and only mods can have bots now i think
