Yard expansion: Much like house expansion in AC.

Get all the cats: Get all the villagers to visit your town (or yard, in this case).

Mementos: Items giving to you by villagers, such as items given to you by cats.

Get a picture of each cat: Get a framed photo of each villager if you treat them well enough.

Get all the goodies: Just simply meaning obtainable items.

Get rich: Get rich with bells.

You visit your town in the game every once and awhile to check on villagers to be aware if any new ones came and any old ones left- much like you visit your app time to time.

you have a yard and you buy stuff to attract kitties
some are rare, some are cute, some are whatever
you can expand your yard to add more items
but the main goal is to collect all the cats
