Names for dogs?

Lekka is a nice word in Afrikaans, but over my years of not living in South Africa I think it's turned into something else. Lekka was the name of my Aunt's dog; she was a sweety.

I guess is ways 'Lekka' was AWESOME! GREAT! or happy. So everytime I called her name she'd wag with a big ol' smile on her face.
