A long while ago they did say they wanted it to "cost a lot," so 1k fraises isn't that out of the realm of impossible.

I personally think 1k for a name change is a lot. But considering Transformice gives out a lot of fraises for small money... it's kinda reasonable. And this is just my point of view, 'cause 20$ worth fraises can last me for a month and something.

a reasonable amount for a name change I'm thinking about 500-1000.
any lower would be abusive
any higher would be stupidly expensive.

however if you have a name like mine where people goes "omg you're stupid haha" then maybe you can rethink about paying 1k fraises.

I don't mind how much it costs because I don't see myself changing my username.

I think it'd be cool to have an option of it to say "previously '...'" or something like that. Otherwise users might be confused as to who is who. But it's a cool concept to finally bring in. *-*

The option to change your name is quite a difficult one. I'm personally happy, that this change is coming, some people really want a different name without loosing their stats for various reasons of abuse or just disliking it.

Now, the cost should be somewhere in the range of 400 - 1000 Fraises. I can't believe it's gonna be any highter as that would be too expensive and any lower would make it abusable.

I speculate that the system will work like this:
There's an option to change your name. You press on it, write your wanted name (with email confirmation code of course) pay whatever the cost it would be for that name and in the friend list + profile there's gonna be shown your new name, with a sidebox appering that shows your last name (when you move your mouse over it).

Now what I'd really want to see and suggest is few options to this. I don't know how the system will originally work, but I would like to see these 2 options added to the "Change your name" window:

1. For security reasons, make it ask for an email confirmation code.
2. For privacy reasons, allow a player to hide his original name. To explain how this would work is, you'd change your name right? You change it but you don't want other people to know your original name. So you change your name, and make your old name hidden from other players. Sentinels, Moderators and Administrators could still easly see your previous name, but other people will not. (I also considered this to have a "Only friends can see my last name" option, but I'd like some feedback on the idea).

I'm also wondering about few things:

* When we change our nickname, will our usernames change as well?
* Will we, as users, be able to use, taken names? What am I asking is, we all know that there are thousands of accounts with 0 cheese and rounds. Will we be able to use those names?
Why I'm asking is, an Administrator wrote in a topic: "Retrieving the name of your dreams is only a matter of time now..."

I think it will cost 350.

I'd pay 2400 just to get the name I want @_@.

I'd pay up to 1000 fraises to change my username tbo. I've worked hard on this account and just making a new one and spending 1000 fraises to buy stuff it's not the same.

I do agree, that 1000 fraises (more or less 10 USD) is quite a lot. Any more then that would be dumb. But I can see 500 fraises for sure. For a lot of people, 500 is like the world end-come, but even more will actually consider it. Personally, I don't have the urge to change my name, but I would prefer 250 - 500 fraises.

changing your username should be seen as a premium option, and premium options usually come with a high price tag
so i think that 1k is a reasonable amount
350-500 is a too little amount
the name changing feature should be seen as a feature that you'd only use once or twice

What I worried about this feature is that when a friend changes their name u might not recognize them, since they have different names and all, so ur idea of a side box that appears over the new name sounds like a really good idea. (I don't want to accidentally delete a good friend because I didn't recognize their name )

Yea, I agree, if they put a lower price, there will be people who would abuse the feature and constantly change names

I've been waiting for the name change tool for 4 years and finally it will be here soon :o

isn't it like 6.99gbp to change your name on xbox live? that makes a 10 usd name change seem reasonable to me
