Mods with them whisper off. |

xxkingswagxx a dit : sigh, can you really stop mentioning the 'dipshit' stuff and whatnot? just because they have their whispers on doesn't mean they're should be open to you anytime you'd like, it's their choice to respond or not you must know that a mod's responsibility is not the center of their life they can just take a break whenever they'd like, and it's not like you have anything to stop or interfere with it just imagine how it'd be like when you become a mod, that is what i mean |

Anyway. xxkingswagxx a dit : I understand that it may feel that way (and I feel similarly, albeit for a different motive), but you have to remember once again how many whispers mods get. Stuff can and does get lost regularly. Some days ago in public chat, a user told me to kill myself while a mod was in the room. I was pretty upset that they weren't given a warning, but then I remembered how covered up they are with whispers, and other stuff mods see that we don't. But I can't lie that it wasn't upsetting |

anyway,, you shouldn't be thinking that a mod would ignore you for hate no matter how annoying you seem, it doesn't matter to them they're just getting spammed with whispers, or else they would be taking a break from their job, that's all Dernière modification le 1443031440000 |

smartiewolfs a dit : You could be surprised at some of the mod's hatred for some people, mods are humans too, and humans tend to hate/judge people Dernière modification le 1443031500000 |

And mods can also get fired for deliberately ignoring someone so... It's probably my previous point, which was lost. ;) Dernière modification le 1443019140000 |

Please keep this discussion about the moderation team, not eachother. If there's one other thing I think that may be use to people here, this post of Secretive's sums up a lot of the issues with mods and whispers. |

I'm pretty sure this has been said already but I just want to put this out there again. Moderators are normal players just like everyone, if (we) want to disable our whispers for whatever reason we may have, I think we hold the right to. Yes, we applied for this position because we want to be able to help the game and the individuals who are playing this game. Yes, we understand that this is kind of like a "real job" where you have duties and responsibilities that we need to fulfill. Yes, we know that people gets frustrated when they are not getting the help they asked for right away. But no, I don't think we are obligated to have the whisper on whenever we are [playing] in-game. There are times that we want to play the game without having interruptions even for just a little bit. There are also times when we have to attend something or have to do things outside of Transformice but would still like to be present in-game. There's literally a million reason as to why a moderator's whisper is disabled. There are other ways of communicating with a moderator - for example, we can be contacted here in the forum or in Transformice's IRC channel. |

i always report first, and i've seen action been taken about reports pretty instantly in the past :) if i think something is urgent, (usually hackers, who are hacking in the room and have not left yet so can be witnessed) my next port of call AFTER REPORTING is the IRC, and i have to say every single time i've asked a mod something over the IRC something has been done about it. like i say, usually it's hackers i feel need "urgent" attention, especially when i play them in such a way that makes them keep on hacking so mods are guaranteed to see it. (think "omg, that's amazing, how did you do that? will you show me how to do that when you sham next?" simple things to goad them on works surprizinly well, that and never going OMG HACKS or saying I'VE REPORTED YOU! cos then they just flee) and every single time i've done this said hacker has been banned within a few rounds. other time's i've had times where i've wanted to confirm certain actions are or are not against the rules, and i've always had them clarified to me by a mod (or even a dev, Zou helped me out one time with a clarification, thanks :) ) whispering is something I wouldn't even think of. you can only see a few lines of text on your chat bar unless it's expanded, and i can't imagine how many more there will be in the mod's interface. If they have notifications about reports or watnot... and that's not even accounting for the tens of thousands of whispers they must get every session. Even in the time it'd take to scroll up to read one whisper hundreds more would have been sent. I'd personally rather have the mods... moderate, than spend their time working through a backlog of needless whispers when there are more effective ways to tackle issues that need a mod for anyway... I don't think whispers were ever intended as a way to contact mods. It's like... you text your friends when you want to casually chat with them, but if you had a complaint with your bank you'd phone them up, or go in and see them in the acctual bank. You wouldn't text the call-centre phone number and then sit there twiddling your thumbs and complaining to your peers about how you never got a text back. to me whispering is like texting, an informal way to talk privately with people. If you have serious issues you want a log of them anyway, so you'd follow the more official procedures to get them fixed. And if it's not a serious issue then you shouldn't be contacting a mod anyway. and mods do moderate :) like i say every time i've needed one i've seen action taken. But then again i don't ask for them too often. Dernière modification le 1443049080000 |

Not to mention that whether you are a moderator, map maker or from the Module Team, these are all voluntary work and these people are not being paid to help. It is definitely a job and it has to be done, but it is not easy to consider that firstly, to be able to live, money comes 1st. And after a tiring day they still come online to help. As many said they /slience due to the overwhelming whispers given. As much as they would like to help they cannot help everyone, not to mention as these people are treated like "celebrities", there are also unrelated whispers like hate messages and spams from other languages which they are not familiar with. (Motivational whispers are sweet though). |
